RPI Recruit Thread 2016-17 Part II

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2016-17 Part II

Which of your recruits do you feel are most likely to jump ship?

I think it depends on who gets the job. Right now I don’t think they lose one and honestly other than maybe screwing up the roster replacements I don’t think it would matter if one did decommit (other than Marshall).

I agree that Marshall is the only single one who who would hurt. We can afford to lose one of Ohrvall, Conger, and Stout. ALso one of Cho, Babichuk, and Tuliara. IMO neither Payne nor Harris would hurt.

I should add that for future recruits Cameron and Bendorf would also be big losses. Modry is a mystery since he very often is a healthy scratch. Hopefully he will be a key figure for Wenatchee or wherever he is next season.

We don't really know if the school or the coaches are the reason that they committed. Since Modry's mother's family is from the Capital District, in his case it may have been the school to a large degree.

Besides for players decommiting, of course the new coach may not like some of our recruits.

back to the 2017 recruits, what turk wrote is the essence.

BTW, Bailey Conger may be a jinx since he already went through one coaching change at SLU. :)

On Friday, HIFK U20 defeated TPS U20 4-2. The best-of-3 playoff series is tied 1-1. Atte Tuliara did not dress, almost certainly due to injury. http://www.tilastopalvelu.fi/ih/gamereport/report/gamereport.php?gameid=51107&lang=en

Tuliara's playoff line is 0-0-0-0-0.
His total is 45-8-18-26-40.

If my translation is correct, they play a 20-minute 3 on 3 game to decide the winner:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="fi" dir="ltr">Kollit voittaa 4-2. Seuraa 20 minuutin jatkoerä 3 vs. 3. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/kollitlive?src=hash">#kollitlive</a></p>— Kollit (@HIFKHockeyU20) <a href="https://twitter.com/HIFKHockeyU20/status/840261890978791424">March 10, 2017</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Edit: the 3-on-3 part is definitely correct, and i suspect the 20-minute part too.

Quarter finals start on Sunday, best-of-5.

I love reading tweets in Finnish. Twitter provides translations by Bing which are often incomprehensible. :) Thankfully the box score translation is pretty good.

Interesting that today Harris finally shows up on the elite prospects transaction page. Confirmation? or just took that long? Because of Jespar being here I don’t forsee losing him although Jespar was often scratched this year. I do know the 3 Swedes want desperately to play together. Obviously that can change. Bendorf certainly hasn’t scored much (misses his liney Evan Barrat?). Will Cameron have success without a loaded Avs lineup as he moves up? As Ralph noted there could be several commits that the new Staff lets walk.....not to mention even some who may be on the current Roster. Heck, the possibllity exists that Detroit’s HC, Jeff Blashill (Appert’s buddy) convinces Perry to move on to the pros just to spite RPI.

That's Emil Ohrvall and Bailey Conger.

They have always seemed a bit random to me. College Hockey Inc is also quite random. They still don't have Marshall, Ohrvall, and Stout.

Edit: BC was named the #3 Star.

I will post the BCHL summaries in the AM. Linden Marshall is in goal for Trail (gave up goals on first 2 SOGs). Jacob Modry is dressed for Wenatchee. Gavin Payne is not dressed for Langley, probably injured.
