Carlson is trying everyone in various situations in the preseason. Usually uses vets or older players on PK during the year. If I had to guess Jacob won't see PK time during the regular season

I can't blame the coach for using the preseason to evaluate players. :)

It is a bit early in the season ;), but Todd Burgess is tied for second in scoring in the NAHL http://nahl.stats.pointstreak.com/scoringleaders.html?leagueid=164&seasonid=14328 and is leading the league in goals scored http://nahl.stats.pointstreak.com/scoringleaders.html?leagueid=164&seasonid=14328&sortby=g.

And of even less significance since the stats don't count being it's preseason, Jacob Hayhurst is tied for 5th in the USHL in scoring http://stats.ushl.com/ushl/ushl/en/...s&season_id=49&tournament_id=0&division_id=-1 and tied for second in goals scored http://stats.ushl.com/ushl/ushl/en/...s&season_id=49&tournament_id=0&division_id=-1.

....notice TB’s teammate, Logan Coomes is the leading scorer. Perhaps some remember that name? 2-3 years ago we were trying to figure out who the player was (a recruit) at one game. Remember he was wearing a Frederick Freeze Team windbreaker? That was Logan Coomes. He went on to commit to Q-Pac.

I'm on record as believing Hayhurst is a stud in the making --huge upside. Burgess I don't know a lot about, but I'd be happier if he was in USHL, although more and more kids are coming out of NAHL to D1, the league has done a great job of growing the skill level.

Somewhere I read that SA has a good relationship with Fairbanks' coach. I suspect that due to that Burgess wasn't pressured to go to the USHL even though he is a Sioux City draft choice.

Hayhurst is a small stud. (not that I should talk about size. :) )

Edit: If you read some threads on the BCHL message board about the Wenatchee Wild moving from the NAHL to the BCHL you might think that the NAHL was better than the NHL. :)
