RPI Recruit Thread 2015-16 Part III

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2015-16 Part III

Kid sure had a lot of well wishers on his Tweet page. I see he also followed Jon Bendorf.

Very proud to announce my commitment to play college hockey at RPI! Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2015-16 Part III

It's as good a time as any to switch to posting next year's info. MC's stats are available at the Elite Prospects site which turk posted. I am putting him down for the U16 team which he will still be eligible, but hopefully he will advance.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2015-16 Part III

From USHR about Select-15 camp last year http://www.ushr.com/news/20150811/5396?label=Select-15-Standouts (rated A-/B+)

Matt Cameron, #8 White/ Little Caesar’s, 5-9.25/188 – Not a pretty skater, but knows how to get to the goal scoring areas. Has very good hands, a quick release, and a heavy shot. Seems to enjoy creating havoc in front of the net. Berwyn, PA native, who played for Little Caesar’s last season, will be playing for the North Jersey Avalanche U16s this winter. Appears to be carrying a bit too much weight. If he were to shed some, his skating could take a leap forward. (5-3-8)
Most sites list him as 181. :)

This appears to be the U16 roster for 2016-17 http://www.njavalanche.pointstreaks...eams-and-managers/tier-1-ayhl/16-aaa-national. It contains MC's name. I based this conclusion by comparing the roster to last year's on the Elite Prospects site.

College Hockey Inc think that MC is coming in 2019.

Sam Rappaport (Soo Eagles, NOJHL) will attempt to walk-on at RPI: http://www.hockeynewsnorth.com/nojhl/soo-eagles-rpi/

If not, I suspect that the ACHA team could use him.

Sam Rappaport is moving on from the Soo Eagles of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League for prestigious Rensselaer Polytenchic Institute, a Division 1, National Collegiate Athletic Association school.

A 1996 birth-year forward who stands in at 5-foot-10 and weighs 170 pounds, Rappaport produced 8 goals, 16 assists, 24 points in 47 games for the Eagles during the 2015-2016 season NOJHL season.

Rapport, who will study civil engineering at RPI, said he will attempt to make the roster of the hockey Engineers as a freshman walk-on or as a redshirt.

“I have been told that I will get a fair shot to make the team as the 16th forward,” Rappaport told HockeyNewsNorth.com.

Rappport credited both Eagles co-coach/general manager Bruno Bragagnolo and family advisor David Maciuk for contacting the RPI hockey staff on his behalf.

He called his one season in the NOJHL “a great experience.

“I got to play at Pullar Stadium and in a lot of cool, old northern Ontario rinks. The NOJHL is a good physical league,” added Rappaport, who hails from Basalt, Colorado.

Bragagnolo, meanwhile, wished his former player well and paid tribute to him.

“I am sure Sam will make the most of the opportunity ahead of him,” Bragagnolo told HockeyNewsNorth.com. “He’s got a great work ethic, great compete and skill level and is absolutely fearless. We will miss him.”

Of note, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario native Cam Hackett is about to enter his second season at RPI as a standout sophomore goalie.
