Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2015-16 Part II

There is a video after Maple Leafs camp http://mapleleafs.nhl.com/club/search.htm?q=will+reilly&tab=video See 12/7/15 (actually it was 7/12/15). Apparently he intended to go to the USHL.
Wonder if Viktor remembers him? At first glance of the video I immediately thought of the facial resemblance to Colin Greening & then he actually talked about him  https://www.google.com/search?q=ima...ei=lg0QV7qqCcvReqWKq8gN#imgrc=TOThRlVCXgSn5M:

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2015-16 Part II

I am a bit surprised that he was still available. It is impossible of course for us to tell how it translates to D-I.
......especially if he was on Michigan’s radar........ After going undrafted a year ago in the OHL Priority Selection draft, North York defensemen Will Reilly has been a rising star over the past year and has gone from an unknown to a defensemen showing pro potential. Reilly is a raw talent, but has made impressive strides to his game in a short period of time. An excellent skater, Reilly has earned a reputation as a skilled, puck moving defensemen who quarterbacks the North York power play.

Reilly doesn't appear to have interest in joining a CHL team and has said that he would like to commit to a school sometime in the next few months. While he has received interest from quite a few programs, coming from the Toronto area where Michigan recruits very well could give the Wolverines a leg up. http://www.maizenbrew.com/2014/11/2...ting-kyle-connor-hayden-lavigne-connor-murphy

He certainly seems quite good for a late recruit. Better than Grant at about the same time last season.

I'm really happy to see Reilly on board. I've said a few times that I hoped we'd add another right shot defenseman to the class, preferably with some size. I was poking around a few weeks ago looking at junior stats for players that might still be available (pathetic, I know) and came across his page. He definitely looked like one of the more promising candidates and I too wondered why he was still available. Let's hope he's as good a prospect as he looks on paper. My optimism for next season continues to increase.

I see he is correctly handed. :)

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2015-16 Part II

He's the second award winner with RPI ties on last year's award. Brady Wiffen was runner-up in both Top Scorer and Most Improved. Now if only SA and the assistant coaches can get these guys to live up to their potential, better times could be ahead for next season.
Maybe it’s SA & his coaches that need to live up to their potential.

Or perhaps the coaching staff is so focused on improving the own side of the blue line, that offence becomes an afterthought. I'll give them there's success there; Conference GAA at 2.23, overall at 2.6 even with the eight-goal anomaly from the playoffs; that's a heck of a lot better than years past. These kids coming in have some real talent, and they're doing well to fit systems of defence. You have to think these kids bring some creativity to the table on offence; why not evolve that system to embrace their abilities and really highlight their talent?
