Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2014-15 Part II

Youngstown clinched a playoff berth and is at the top of the USHL Eastern Division. All of our recruits look to be in the Western Division, but in case Youngstown and one of our guys makes the USHL finals, perhaps an opportunity to watch them.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2014-15 Part II

Jacob Hayhurst is a great talent, one that the Kingston Frotenacs were actively trying to convince to throw away his NCAA dreams and come play in the OHL… Hayhurst was smarter than that and after going to the Dudley Hewitt with the Patriots as a rookie, he wanted to come back for a second year and do it again… and of course go to RPI..... http://ohlwriters.com/articles/the-hayhurst-effect

Nice.

Yes, both Tri-City and Sioux City are in the west, currently #1 and #2.

I should have posted this a few weeks ago. All 11 of our known recruits' teams made the playoffs this year. Obviously in some cases this is a more significant achievement than in other cases due to the fraction of the teams which make them in each league. :)

Based on the number of weekends remaining and the points standings as they are, I'd venture a guess that 6 teams from each side make the playoffs; top two get byes to the quarterfinals.

It was four from each division last year and I think it still is. Omaha hasn't clinched, and if six make it they would have clinched. Anyway it isn't too important since TCS and SCM both made it.

"I think basically the work starts now though," added forward Alex Rodriguez. "We had a meeting today with coach and he's saying, it's a mountain that we have to climb and there's going to be tough spots in it but we just have to keep with it and keep at it because it's the most determined group that's going to do it and I think we got it.”.... http://www.siouxlandmatters.com/spo...es-talk-playoffs/21582/OJ6J5yoVKk2jsnKpCgb4CQ

Ah, OK. I remember it was 6 in 2010-11, the year Luke Curadi won with Dubuque.

from the directory:

Name: Braden Matthew Wiffen
Class: First-Year Student
Curriculum: Business and Management

That leaves Dillon and Fornaris among those we expect.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2014-15 Part II

I wonder if Carlos is injured. His scoring certainly has tailed off, not that he was lighting it up though. I just hope that whatever the problem was at the end of last season isn’t recurring.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2014-15 Part II

On Friday, the CAC Gregg Distributors defeated the UFA Bisons 2-1 in overtime. Their best-of-five playoff series is tied 2-2. Cory Babichuk had no points or penalties. http://www.amhl.ab.ca/finalScoresheet.php?sched_id=145&season_id=3

Babichuk's playoff line is now 4-0-0-0-0.
His total is 36-4-14-18-38.

Edit: All games have been won by the visitors, and CAC will be home for the deciding game.
