http://www.intelligencer.ca/2015/03/15/wiffen-on-fire-hawks-take-2-0-series-lead

Regular-season goal-scoring champion Brady Wiffen was a one-man wrecking crew as the Trenton Golden Hawks took a 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven second-round Ontario Jr. A Hockey League playoff series Sunday in Cobourg.

Wiffen, who led the league with 53 goals in 52 games this season, scored four times Sunday in a 7-2 Hawks win over the host Cobourg Cougars before a crowd of 1,012.

Wiffen's offensive outburst included a natural hat trick. He scored two goals while TGH played shorthanded, one power play marker and one at even strength.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2014-15 Part II

Wiffen (Trenton) is a great player and will do well, he also benefits from being on one of the OLDEST teams in the league (19's and 20's) and is also a 1994 birth year making him the oldest age in the league itself. On top of that he is also receiving more ice than just about anyone league wide, with the exception of a single player in Hladin(Georgetown) who is likely the same ice time as he plays first line and third line with additional PP & PK all season long. Wiffen is a very nice pickup however and will do just fine, albeit I wouldn't quite expect the numbers given no team is likely to every play a single player that much. Georgetown is finding that out now as a one man show is stumbling bad, Trenton however is a very old team with plenty of muscle which should allow them to continue the trend. Hladin had 104 points compared to Wiffens 92 points, both received enormous ice time well beyond what many would consider reasonable compared to quite a few other teams. Stats are very subjective as you never know the details behind them, however both are very good players who will do well at the next level. Any team would like to get their hands on eight (8) of the top eleven (11) players. I would personally pick Wiffen over Hladin, but perhaps a few others lower on the list due to attributes of their games and by knowing their ice allotments compared to their production. In the summer it will be time to discuss new additions, till then.

A side note, Trenton is presently playing Cobourg who is in the midst of a team scandal involving ten players who were at a party, and an investigation concerning sexual assault and potential player involvement. Cobourg has decided to roll four lines no shortening the bench at all in light of the situation so against a team (Trenton) that is shortened to two or three lines depending on the situation every game one would suspect a large goal differential and potentially a four game sweep at the hands of Trenton.

No concerns with the Trenton prospects, just outlining the series and the collapse of the Cobourg side in the series.

Thanks for the insights. I assume information as how much ice time players are getting is not available to the public on the net. By any chance do you know and can you reveal how he does in faceoffs?
