Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2014-15 Part II

Many Posters, including me, often wonder how the different Tier II Leagues stack up with each other. Here’s one site’s take; I want to remind all readers that this series of articles rating the junior hockey leagues in North America is based upon independent opinions and analysis of scouts throughout the United States and Canada..... http://thejuniorhockeynews.com/?p=45065

The NAHL may do a better job of marketing its players than the BCHL, but I think that the BCHL still is a better league. JMHO.

I have a hard time comparing leagues that do not have a draft thus more evenly dispersing the talent throughout the league.

Teams in the BCHL like Penticton get the upper echelon of the players in the BCHL. The BCHL only had 1 NHL draft pick this past year.

The BCHL is definitely a more offensive league.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2014-15 Part II

From a reliable source

99 D man Jacob Modry 6'3 from LA Jr Kings has committed to RPI.

2017 for Modry is a wild guess. It certainly could be later.

Modry was just at the US Select 16 Tryouts. Played for Team Orange..... http://playerdevelopmentcamps.usahockey.com/roster_players/8696052?subseason=232820
We still don’t know if Modry is %100 but Ralph’s source is a good one. SB Nation did a critique of the D-men @ the Select 16 Camp. Not a great ranking (50 out of 52) but he obviously comes from good genes so let’s see how he develops........ 50. Jacob Mrody

Thanks for finding that. It tempers my enthusiasm quite a bit. :(

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2014-15 Part II

Good news for “Flaggie”.......The USHL may be on its way back to Rochester. In 2 or 3 years. Or maybe not. There is an owernship group in place and ready to bring the league back to town, if all of the details can be worked out. The team would almost certainly be an expansion team and probably would start play in the 2017-18 season..... http://postbulletin.typepad.com/fac...he-ushl-may-make-a-comeback-in-rochester.html

What do I care about what happens in Rochester Minnesota?
