You may want to confirm but Charlie Manley will not be playing in Waterloo this year. Instead he will be playing in the NAHL for the Austin Bruins. Waterloo needed to move 2 defenseman and they traded Wilson Vershay to Lincoln and they moved Manley to Austin but I assume kept is rights.

Do you have any concrete confirmation of this? Something you can post a link to? As of yet I can't find anything regarding this move. I have put some inquiries out to some people who might have any info on this move though.

...are you sure you're not mixing up Meirs Moore (Sioux City) with Manley? Moore was taken by Austin in this past draft but Manley wasn't.

I have no reason to doubt this as these things happen often, but as turk said below, I couldn't find any evidence of it, so I will leave this alone for a while. It's not on his twitter account for example. https://twitter.com/cmansSHA22

Information came from another Waterloo player who has recently been moved as well. Manley at the time of camp wasn't enrolled in HS when other HS players were. Upon leaving camp he was under the impression that he was playing there and would be enrolled in school. After he returned home he received a call as I have been told telling him of the move. Waterloo had 10 D in their last camp and the boys were told that 2 D would be moved. Maybe Manley is contemplating going back to the Select Academy instead of going to Austin and thats why it is not out in the public domain.

Thanks Noresmen. Guess we'll just wait & see. I'm not saying the other player is wrong but I also heard (from another player) that one of our current Fr. would be going back to his USHL Team this year but here he is at RPI. So I'll wait.

Toronto lost 5-4 as NY Rangers scored with 1:51 left. No scoring or penalties for Prapavessis. Wasn't there a Warmup Penalty in last night's game as well? Players crossing that Center Red line while yapping at each other perhaps? http://ojhlsite.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=2242797

On Saturday, the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots tied the North York Rangers 5-5 in overtime. Michael Prapavessis had no points or penalties. http://ojhlsite.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=2242797

Prapavessis' preseason line is now 2-1-0-1-0.


Edit: I just looked closely at the boxscore linked above. TLP was behind 5-4 going into OT, and tied it 5-5 in OT. Must be some weird rules in preseaon games. :D

I suspect that he is going back to the SHA with classes at South Kent. He tweeted someone with this schedule. He knows people at South Kent, and it is less likely that he knows people in Austin although he may.

I will still leave him alone in my file until it becomes more definite.

Well we know Carlos Fornaris is at least coming to Cedar Rapids. One kids he billeted with in July wished him luck today on twitter and he favorited it. I wish I knew more about who was staying or going, but I was told by a Roughrider scout that Coach Carlson will find or has found a place for the 7 that do not make the roster this year. The scout also said Mark was very upfront with the players that are on the bubble. Is this Carlos, I do not know as he would not reveal names and I understand that.

Thanks for the info. I assume that most of those that don't make the team would go to the NAHL. In Fornaris' case returning to Northfield-Mount Hermon is probably still an option.

I've received information today that Charles Manley will in fact play for the Austin Bruins in the NAHL.
