He's eligible for the NHL draft in 2014. I'm surprised that there was no interest by the CSB. That could of course change.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2013-14 (Part II)

Probably no interest because he has rarely played. I assume he's being recruited as a #1.

Huh? He has played more than Victoria's other goalie lately, and they are now almost dead even in minutes http://www.bchl.ca/leagues/stats_1team.cfm?leagueID=2393&clientID=1413&teamid=224090 despite the fact Dillon is 1 1/2 years younger. He has a better record and somewhat better stats. He also played a lot for Westshore a year ago.

I am sure that we recruited him as a #1 goalie.

May be true now, but how often is he playing in a backup role (i.e. his name doesn't get announced in the beginning)? Also, when were those rankings done? Not trying to take anything away from the kid, just the dudes putting together the list.

As far as I recall he twice came in as a backup. I don't think that he has been replaced by the other goalie since we received a commitment from him.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2013-14 (Part II)

On Wednesday, the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots defeated the Mississauga Chargers 7-1. Michael Prapavessis had two assists. He was named #2 Star. http://ojhlsite.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=2228283

Prapavessis' line is now 27-2-30-32-2.

Ever since the recent game when a home team scorekeeper awarded all three stars to his team despite losing by about five goals, I have been paying more attention to the Star selections rather than just checking if our recruits got any of them. So here I said to myself that TLP's scorekeeper was being fair giving the #3 star to a member of the losing team. Then I noticed it was to the other team's goalie who gave up 5 goals in 22 shots and was pulled. Some of those 17 saves could have been spectacular, but they did pull him.

It is tough to tell just by the boxscore. I listened to the 3rd period of Alec Dillon's game last night and he made 2 or 3 saves the PxP guy raved about and that was when it was a 2-2 game. Then again, it's still a head-scratcher to me with some of these "Star of Game" that we've seen lately.

I agree anything is possible, and one can't say anything really without seeing the game. It just seemed very odd.

I also thought to myself that the scorekeeper told the goalie, let in a few goals and I will give you the #3 star. :D

Edit: or maybe it is because the Mississauga head coach is probably the goalie's father.
