On Friday, the Waterloo Black Hawks defeated the Muskegon Lumberjacks 5-1. Drew Melanson had a goal and an assist. He was named #2 Star. http://ushl2011.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=2235048

Melanson's Waterloo line is now 33-11-19-30-12.
His total is 35-11-19-30-12.
Good growth. He eclipsed last years' totals in a little more than half the games..... http://ushl2011.stats.pointstreak.com/playerpage.html?playerid=6380585&seasonid=11221

T181: Agree but not sure it is all growth-some of it may just be the way he is being used by his coach. The tools have been there but it is hard to get noticed on the score sheet when you are playing checking line, defending short handed, etc. As you well know just looking at stats is incredibly deceiving. The year Eric Healey scored 30 goals-was a great year for him under any circumstances(96-97), how many were ENGs? How does that compare to Polacek scoring 26 or Tapper getting 31? Numbers taken out of context can be deceiving. I have had absolutely no doubt that Melanson will have a nice career in Troy. Scoring will be a part of it but there is just so much more to a player's complete game. I think he will add a lot ot next year's team and perhaps make other players a bit more effective. Just my 2¢ as usual.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2013-14 (Part II)

On Saturday, the Green Bay Gamblers lost to the Cedar Rapids Roughriders 5-0. Evan Tironese had no points or penalties. Carlos Fornaris scored his first two goals of the year :) and had a tripping penalty. He was named the #2 Star. http://ushl2011.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=2235049

Tironese's line is now 33-6-17-23-87.
Fornaris' line is now 25-2-5-7-23.

Edit: can't complain about CF getting the #2 star when #1 goes to the goalie with a 32-save shutout.
