RPI Recruit Thread 2012-13 (Part III)

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2012-13 (Part III)

I wonder if SA will attend the draft as he did when Pirri and D'Amigo were picked.

Considering its location and possibility of Reno, I wouldn't be surprised.

Draft picks are nice since it gives the school a little bit of limelight time. They can be a bad thing, though, as they could be a distraction to the "team" ideals. Last year we had only one draft pick, but towards the end of the year really became a cohesive team where you couldn't beat them without beating them. SA has certainly learned much from the past couple of years, and will be able to teach these players in not only skill improvement and consistency, but team mentality.

I think that it is good to have draft players since on the average they are the better players. We just were burned badly three years ago when BP and JD'A left.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2012-13 (Part III)

A similar growth spurt this year will make DrD very happy. :)

Kinda wish we had xrays of his long bones to look at.;) If he is still growing we may be looking at a geometric growth rate which we can see at times in late bloomers. For those interested in trying a little experiment. See if you can find your own height records and look at your height very close to your second birthday(your folks probably keep this stuff someplace). Add an inch to that figure and then double the total. See how close that final number comes to your adult height and wingspan as measured from the tip of your middle finger of one hand across your chest to the other. It is as good a predictive number as any.

Today being draft day, and knowing that Reno has a chance at being drafted, are there any possible surprises among our recruits for this years draft?

The only other real possibility among the recruits is Melanson, and his chance is pretty remote.
