RPI Recruit Thread 2012-13 (Part III)

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2012-13 (Part III)

He could still be right. According to your information, DeVito didn't sign the NLI. He merely appears in the directory.
It's not that he didn't sign, it's that we found no reference that he did sign. And anyway, Weaver stated that either Melanson or DeVito would come this year and the other in 2014, and we do know that Melanson signed a NLI.

It could be possible that he's basing this off of the number of students that graduate this year, as well as the position the players play and the corresponding age.

Anything is possible, and that exact scenario crossed my mind. SA isn't allowed to tell him anything although maybe Weaver heard something off the Record (pun intended).

I am still leaving things as both for 2013 on my chart.

I believe Appert is permitted to speak about recruits who have signed an NLI.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2012-13 (Part III)

I thought that the school is only allowed to make a single formal recruit announcement.

I believe it was the summer Allen York left, Appert mentioned that Laliberté is showing up, but couldn't comment on the goaltenders because they hadn't picked one.

...just to add a little info on the Delay of Game penalties, the game got very chippy towards the end. They were not penalties for, say.....shooting the puck over the glass in your own end but for the refs having to stop play to seperate players. Next game could be interesting.

But each one was half of a coincidental set of DOG penalties. Did they need help getting the puck out of the rink? ;) (I assume that there was some "dancing" on the ice at the time.)

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2012-13 (Part III)

It's not that he didn't sign, it's that we found no reference that he did sign. And anyway, Weaver stated that either Melanson or DeVito would come this year and the other in 2014, and we do know that Melanson signed a NLI.
the "either or" statement by Ed was his opinion based on outgoing forwards vs incoming not on anything SA has told him....at least that's how I interpreted it when I asked him (Ed) last night at the Banquet.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2012-13 (Part III)

Not sure exactly why, but Jake Wood was suspended one game by the USHL. He will not play tonight in game four of the series between the Stars and the Stampede. Wood picked up a minor for "delay of game" last night, but that was it. My guess is that the Sioux Falls coaches saw something they didn't like, that wasn't called, so they had the league review the video.

In that case, he is probably wrong. I suspect that SA believes that we can use a couple of more players than we have had in the past since there have recently been more injuries, and perhaps more importantly people sitting out for precautionary reasons. The old 12 forwards, (13 last year) and 8 men, is not enough. So going with 14 makes sense to me also. If we have no injuries, which would be nice, then he will have a harder problem deciding whom to sit, but that's the better problem to have than being short of players. JMHO.

Oh, and also DeVito and Wood will have a suspension after each game that they dress. ;)

Yeti,

Wood's tweets are protected, if you want to remove it. It certainly seems excessive from here.
