Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2012-13 (Part II)

i suspect that he does. BTW, Jenn Godin of Clarence Center is the only woman from NYS. I was going to add recruit Katie Rooney, but she is from the wrong Buffalo. :D

I remember passing Buffalo once or twice on I-94 on the trip to St. Cloud (I didn't get lost, just went to the Mall of America), and thought to myself, "Why is Buffalo so small?" :p:D

Good to see we're picking up a lot of the Buffalo area, although I suspect RIT isn't too thrilled with that. ;)

I am happy and really quite surprised that we are getting more NYS recruits in the SA era. In the recent past most that we got were from the CD. We seemed to have little chance against the other NYS teams from those from further north or west.

Gawd. We're still arguing this? Enough already.

Anyway, what difference does it make whether they come from NY State, California, or Slovakia? When they get here, they are all Engineers!

I agree that it doesn't make a difference when they get to RPI, but discussing where we get recruits from seems to me to be on topic -- certainly more so than discussing geography or Troy brothels. :)

Why do the Gophers constantly recruit from Minnesota? Why did BU used to recruit mostly from Massachusetts? Why do Clarkson and SLU get mostly Ontarians and Quebecois? Why did Harkness leave RPI for Cornell?

There's always a special feeling of regionalism when you see boys from your backyard play for your college team. Certainly they are all engineers once they get here, and there's no questioning that.

Not unless the Troy brothels are a recruiting incentive.:)

True, but I suspect that the hcokey players don't need it.

Looking at the address, 1725 6th Avenue, it appears that her brothel was approximately where the police station is now.

RB: Please stay on topic-after all this is the recruit thread.;) BTW-Mame Faye was located almost exactly across from the old Holiday Inn/Best Western/Rensselaer Inn. There were many others including but not limited to extending up into North Troy. You must remember what a bustling metropolis Troy was back then and the economic powerhouse it represented with all the industry there.

Hey now, it's on topic. After all, it's things that could be used to entice recruits! :p:D
