Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2011-12 Part II

Then you have the BCHL which will be dropping from 60 games to 56 next season...

Heres an update on Gunnery. They played twice over the weekend, on Friday they defeated Loomis-Chaffee 11-1. JW scored two goals and had an assist. On Saturday, they defeated Pomfret 4-1. Wood scored a goal.

His line should now be 20-9-18-27-x

FWIW, also saw that Quinnipiac lost one of their top recruits for 2013 in F-Adam Gilmour. USHR expects to see him pop up at one of the Beanpot schools (just a guess Harvard isnt one of them). I dont like seeing fellow league schools losing recruits to the big boys but I have a feeling its a trend we are going to see more of in the future.

Going to hazard a guess that Northeastern will probably come up emptyhanded as well.

Totally agree on the sucktitude of this news.

Very much so.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2011-12 Part II

April 11th this year is when the regular signing period begins for NLI, however that is for incoming freshmen for the 2012-13 school year. Sadly, there isn't much that can be done to protect the future recruits.

We do have the fact that SA can sell iceboxes to eskimos on our side. I can't believe that he and the staff doesn't stroke the recruits as much as is allowed.

Delbarton won 5-1 on Wednesday according to the school website but the website with boxscores is currently down. I got two Emails stating that he had 3 assists, so I have included that.

Re: RPI Recruit Thread 2011-12 Part II

RB: Melanson assisted on 3 of their first 4 goals-Delbarton just overwhelmed LaSalle(which was rated as the top high school team in eastern Pa). I have heard that Delbarton sat many of their top players for much of the third period and gave more ice time to their younger boys. I suspect Melanson had less ice time as the game went on. This was supposed to be a close fought battle between the top NJ prep school and the top Eastern Pa school but was one sided from the beginning. Delbarton may not face any real competition again until they might get Don Bosco Prep here in NJ in the playoffs.

I realize that Don Bosco has an excellent record, but Delbarton beat them 4-1 with a 26-16 SOG advantage earlier this year. An article http://highschoolsports.nj.com/news...-bosco-prep-1-at-delbarton-4-boys-ice-hockey/ makes it appear that Delbarton could have played better.

I have seen Delbarton often this year-and friends have seen virtually all their home games and some road games. Don Bosco is the only prep school threat to them in NJ. I do get the feeling some times that Delbarton can play better-they seem to be coasting along in some games after taking an early lead. Their coach does seem to try to get everyone involved and does not intentionally run the scores up. In the NY public school division-there are a few schools that seemingly could play up to the Delbarton level. Our local Brick High team is good and Toms River North is pretty fair. I have seen Randolph play once and Rumson-Fair Haven play once and they also seem much better than their opposition but I don't think there is a school in NJ that is too close to Delbarton. I think their record over the past 10 years is just astounding as they reload each year. What is very interesting to me, and a wonderful sign for RPI-is that on such a very good team-our recruit just plays well and stands out every game. i have followed high school hockey here in NJ since 1974 and can only remember a few that have impressed me as much. Jim Dowd at Brick was one. Of course Cindy Acropolis was just so far above any girl I had seen play here that she was able to compete well even on a very good boys team.
