Re: RPI Pros IV

Nothing to confirm yet, but I'm hearing that Steve Mason was injured in practice, so the Blue Jackets called up York again on an emergency basis.

Ah, here we go, from Fox Sports Ohio: http://www.foxsportsohio.com/11/21/...g_bluejackets.html?blockID=609328&feedID=3725

York is certainly moving around a lot. I hadn't noticed that he had moved from Chicago to Springfield. i gues with injuries, Columbus got to keep moving around players, but what York could probably use is playing time.

I wouldn't be shocked if that's why he went to Chicago for a game. Some time on the ice will help. I know he was our rock for the 2008-09 playoffs, but I can't remember if he played the weekend before...

The transaction list says that he was brought back up to Springfield yesterday.

Hmm... if only there were some way to look that up...

He played on Friday vs Clarkson before Mathias played on Saturday vs SLU.

From Rockford's coach on the 22nd, so it doesn't include his latest exploits http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20111122/sports/711229941/
C Brandon Pirri: “He’s been good in the last three or four games. He has the offensive ability, good instincts, sees the ice well. We’re just trying to make him into a two-way hockey player where he also is good away from the puck defensively in his own end. All those things we’re working on so that when he does get to the NHL he’s ready to go at both ends of the rink.”
We had similar comments two years ago. :)

Yup-no question he can score and be the offensive threat at any level. The other aspects of his game though may be what hold him back. I still think that 2 more years of NCAA play would have allowed him plenty of time to work on that while being a noticeable force in the college ranks.
