Re: RPI Pros IV

Last I had heard, York was injured and "not in very good shape right now." I would have been happy to hear that he had physically recovered well enough to be ready to play for Springfield, let alone Columbus.

It's possible, of course, that he has been called up strictly to serve as an emergency backup in case the Blue Jackets' regular starter gets injured.

If he has been called up with the idea of putting him into action right away, he's got quite a test waiting for him. Columbus will play the Red Wings in Detroit tonight.

He's being brought up as an emergency backup.

Re: RPI Pros IV

I would have to believe that York is well enough to play, yes, it is as an emergency backup but Dekanich is listed as out indefinitely & Sanford is listed as out 2-4 weeks (scroll down to see injury report) http://bluejackets.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=596850&navid=DL|CBJ|home

That makes the signing of Manny Legace by Sprinfield interesting. I hope Allan gets a chance to play before Legace plays himself into shape. You got to believe that they signed him for his NHL experience.

Re: RPI Pros IV

So thus far York's Goals against average is perfect?

Yes. He played a total of 2:33 and did not allow a goal.

He didn't make any saves, either, but that can be attributed to the Red Wings' recognition that it would be utterly futile to try to score against him. ;)

That is still a great start. Worth another shot in goal soon.

Re: RPI Pros IV

Have to wonder if he was injured at all. He played in their 1st game of the Traverse City Tourn. then didn't play again till 1 game last week. Hopefully he can now get lots of ice time.

Re: RPI Pros IV

The Rivermen have announced that Polacek is "on loan" to the Aces. So perhaps they just want him to be able to get more ice time, since in Peoria he's being overlooked in favor of players the Blues want developed in case they have to call them up because of injuries, like last year.
