Re: RPI @ Princeton 1/1015

Although this is now the only league road trip where I would see a sign saying "Speed Limit 70", nah...

Does 1/1015 represent our chance of winning? ;)

No. Just our chances of scoring 4 goals in a game. In fact, the last time we scored 3 in a game was the last time that we played Princeton back in November. We haven't had a 4+ goal game since the blowout of #26.

The last time we had the first goal was the night after that, when we played Quinnipiac.

Re: RPI @ Princeton 1/1015

We were told from the beginning of the season that goals were going to come at a premium. My concern is that we can't hold anyone to under 4 goals. Where is the defense that was going to keep us in games?
It has been a long time since our last win, lets get one tonight and start a new trend.

lets go red!!!!!!!!!!!

Gosh I hope not-I figured if you flip a coin it has to come up heads some time and no one else seemed to be up to it. Besides, since we will be there(hopefully) this might be our chance of winning. Since 1975 Jenny says we are 17-8-6 at baker Rink when we attended and 0-3-0 when we did not go. The worst was 94/95 when Brian Massota had a melt down and we lost 9-1 with about 6 soft goals against in the second period. In the early years we had a long stretch of never seeing our boys lose there(but they only played there every 2 years in those days). If we cannot bring some good fortune with us tonight, we may give up our tickets for the near future. LGR!!!

Again we are on the same page. We knew offense was going to be a challenge but defense and goaltending was supposed to be our strong suit. Not only has our goaltending and defense given up at least 1-2 more goals per game than expected, they have looked quite bad doing it with a large number being either soft or deflections or odd man situations right near the net. Obviously we need to score, but we need to improve our scoring particularly on th epower play and decrease the goals against when short handed. And it would not hurt at all if we could at least win 50% of the faceoffs deep in our own zone. I could give 2 poops when we win the faceoffs at center ice but they do not separate those stats for me.

Re: RPI @ Princeton 1/1015

The last time we swept Princeton was the 03-04 season. Mind you, in 05-06, we took 3 points (the one at HBR was a tie).

One of many that eventually led to his transfer.

Thanks for the explanation. :D

It's a good night to pick up two points... there's no time like the present. Let's Go, Red!

Re: RPI @ Princeton 1/1015

We all had high hopes for him, high draft pick and all-and he started that game at Baker Rink with a very good first period as I recall(it was 1-1 or 1-0) for the most part. But we were sitting in our usual section 125 by the RPI goalie for period two and saw a complete coming apart at the seams. Not sure if Princeton got 5 or 6 or 7 in quickly but almost all should have been stopped. It was like he was suddenly not there at all. Honestly believe he got shell shocked and he was never the same again.
