RPI Pick to Click 2015-16

Re: RPI Pick to Click 2015-16

Of course, I win and then forget to post while away all week on business!

Re: RPI Pick to Click 2015-16

Another week, another winner, as engineerhockeyfan rides his bonus point to the top of the standings. Of course, it's hard to have repeat winners when last week's winner doesn't participate. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In Potsdam, four Engineer skaters managed to earn 2 PtC points: Travis Fulton (1 G; no one), Meirs Moore (1 A; no one), Jake Wood (1 G; no one), and Parker Reno (1 A; no one). For the home team, Terrance Amorosa (no one) led the way, potting the game-tying goal. Both starting goalies, Jason Kasdorf (no one) and Steve Perry (FlagDUDE08) earned quality starts for their efforts.
Saturday once again saw multiple Engineers tie for the most PtC points, this time at 3: Drew Melanson (1-1–2; no one), Riley Bourbonnais (1-1–2; RPI fan 4 life, engineerhockeyfan), and Jared Wilson (1-0–1; no one). The Saints were led by ineligible defenseman Gavin Bayreuther, who assisted on the first and third SLU goals. The three SLU goal scorers, Drew Smolcynski, Michael Ederer, Jacob Pritchard, along with two defensemen with assists, Nolan Gluchowski and Matt Purmal, led eligible players, but none of them were selected. Good job guys. Cam Hackett (no one) did earn a quality start in his first NCAA start.

Re: RPI Pick to Click 2015-16

Link back to the first post with details on scoring

The ECAC schedule rolls on as Yale and Brown make their way up to the Capital District. RPI will try to hand Yale their first loss and keep their own unbeaten streak alive. On the other end of the spectrum, the Engineers aim to prevent Brown from earning their first win (though maybe the Schenectadopes can help them out on that score on Friday).

Picks must be in by 7:00 ET on Friday.

You may NOT choose the following players for this weekend's games:
RPI: Riley Bourbonnais
Yale: Joe Snively
Brown: none

Putting them in first so I don't forget this week!

Friday
RPI - Fulton
Yale - Obuchowski

Saturday
RPI - Nanne
Brown - McArdle

Re: RPI Pick to Click 2015-16

Usually you have to specify the player. It's the chance you take picking goalies. Especially since Brown rotates them.

RPI: Jared Wilson
Ylae*: Alex Lyon

RPI: MILLERRRRRRRRRRRRR
Brown: Tim Ernst

Re: RPI Pick to Click 2015-16

It is not. Either pick one and take your chances or pick a skater.

I thought the chance you took was everyone labeling you a traitor and/or bad fan?

I could care less how they view me. If they want to judge people based upon whether they're a fan of a team based upon a choice in a pick'em game, that's their problem. Remember, I started picking goalies as a sort of reverse psychology in 12-13. We were losing so much it looked like a good pick, then we started winning. And it seemed like whenever I didn't pick the other team's goalie, we lost. Too superstitious to change that now.

Re: RPI Pick to Click 2015-16

Congratulations to vizoroo, who becomes our first repeat winner of the bonus point, and with it gains a share of the overall lead! The other share belongs to RPI fan 4 life, who also had a pretty good week.

Parker Reno (vizoroo) led the way for the Engineers on Friday, earning assists on RPI's second and third goals of the evening (The second goal was initially credited to Reno, but was subsequently changed to Lou Nanne). For the Elis, Ryan Hitchcock (G; no one), Andrew Gaus (G; no one), and Rob O'Gara (A; Ralph Baer) each earned 2 PtC points.
Saturday saw a fine example of scoring-by-committee by the Engineers, as SIX skaters each earned 2 PtC points, but only Jared Wilson (A; lugnut92, vizoroo) was selected. On the other end of the ice, **** was led by Nick Lappin (2 G; RPI fan 4 life) and Max Gottlieb (2 A; no one).
