RPI Pick to Click 2013-14: Revenge of the Nerds

Re: RPI Pick to Click 2013-14: Revenge of the Nerds

Congratulations to engineerhockeyfan and RPI fan 4 life! They each scored 4 points on the weekend to squeak out the win. 4 points is the lowest winning score of the season. The previous low had been 6.

On Friday, it was a close and tight hockey game. With just one goal being scored on each side, there were very few points to go around. Ryan Haggerty scored RPI's goal, but is, as we all know, ineligible. So, the points went to the assist makers, Milos Bubela (nobody) and Mike Zalewski (1988, myself, ehf, hawthr, RPI fan 4 life, RPIHFH, rsfs04, TuteScrooge, and vizoroo). For Colgate, John Lidgett scored the goal and Kevin Lough had the primary assist for two points each. Nobody scored any points on their Colgate choice.

In Ithaca on Saturday, Bo Dolan (nobody) had a pair of assists to lead the way, factoring into the scoring on both McGowan's and Tinordi's goals. John McCarron (hawthr) scored the Faux Red's only goal and Jacob MacDonald (nobody) had the secondary assist making each of them worth two points.

With Ralph's zero, it ended an illustrious streak and shrunk his lead to just two points over lugnut. FlagDUDE also lost a season-long scoring streak. cnor tallied his third 0-point weekend of the year to join myself and viz with that glorious distinction.

Everyone in the Top 8 except for Ralph and MavHockey has scored at least one point each weekend of this season. That means that RPIHFH stands alone at the top. He's scored in 21 consecutive weekends of real, countable game play. RPI fan 4 life is just one week shy with 20, lugnut92 has 17 consecutive weeks, ehf and TuteScrooge each sit at 16, and rsfs04 is brand new to the game this season, so he only has this season's 15.

In terms of overall standing, hawthr skipped over FlagDUDE. That was literally it.

Re: RPI Pick to Click 2013-14: Revenge of the Nerds

Link back to the title post with details on scoring

RPI closes out the home portion of their regular season against their rivals from the North Country.

St. Lawrence has been a strange beast, beating Union and Quinnipiac and easily handling Princeton, yet losing to RPI and Dartmouth and scraping out a tie against Harvard.

Clarkson is just 1-4-0 in their last five and 2-6-0 in their last 8 with those two wins coming over a depleted RPI squad and Princeton.

You may not choose the following players for this game:
RPI - Ryan Haggerty NOR Chris Bradley
St. Lawrence - Greg Carey NOR Justin Baker
Clarkson - Allan McPherson NOR Paul Geiger

Statistics / Rosters:
Rensselaer: Statistics | Roster
St. Lawrence: Statistics | Roster | KYE (beware of G. / M. Carey confusion)
Clarkson: Statistics | Roster | KYE (beware of J. / M. Zarbo confusion)
