Re: RPI Pick to Click 2013-14: Revenge of the Nerds
Congratulations to 1988! (S)he makes a triumphant entrance to the real competition, taking home the weekly win, just like the good men of Troy.
(They got one win; that counts, right?)
Jason Kasdorf (1988 and lugnut92) was a stone wall in Bridgeport, generating 5 PtC points with his 13-save shutout.
Ryan Haggerty (MavHockey14 and RPI fan 4 life) was the top skater for the Engineers, slotting home the game-winning tally and the back breaker midway through the 2nd period to earn himself 4 PtC points. It's worth noting here that REDaero was the only poster to not pick up a point Saturday. She picked Travis Fulton, who ended the game with a shot on goal, but no points. The Pioneers didn't hit the scoreboard, so, good job everybody, you all hit the maximum possible there.
Things changed a bit on Sunday. BC went on a storm in the 2nd and 3rd periods and finished the game with a 7-2 win. Each of the Three Stars of the Game had a goal and an assist for 4 PtC points and Scott Savage (a defenseman) also racked up 4 PtC points through two assists.
Bill Arnold (RPI fan 4 life),
Johnny Gaudreau (1988, arickeo, burgie12, lugnut92, MavHockey14, Ralph Baer, REDaero91, RKarger, and RPIHFH),
Kevin Hayes (engineerhockeyfan and hawthr), and
Savage (nobody) all lit up the scoreboard.
Milos Bubela and
Jimmy DeVito tallied the goals for the Engineers and
Curtis Leonard had an assist, so all three skaters were worth 2 PtC points, but none of them were picked on Sunday.
As previously mentioned, 1988 takes the early lead. Everyone scored a point, so everyone has a point-scoring streak! Woo! Sorry, REDRocket, but your picks weren't in before the books closed.
Make sure you get your picks in before 7pm this Friday!
