The season gets undeerway for real with a game at Harbor Yard (no, not Hahvahd Yahd) against Sacred Heart before the boys in RED enter the teeth of the storm to face the BC Eagles.
The Engineers hold a 4-2-0 advantage over the Pioneers all-time and have not lost to them since the 2006-7 season. Last season, the Pioneers nearly went winless for the whole season, failing to pick up a win until February and going 0-7-0 in non-conference play.
The Eagles, on the other hand, have not been a recent opponent of RPI. The last time they played was in Minnesota in the 2007-8 season. The last time they played at Conte Forum was in January of 1997. And, the last time RPI beat BC was not only the last time the Engineers won the ECAC Championship, but also the first year that York was at the helm for Boston College (1995). BC had a kinda OK season last year, finishing one point behind UML in the HEA standings before losing to BU at the TD Garden in the HEA Semifinals and losing to Union in the NCAAs at Providence. BC was 5-1-1 in non-conference play last year, including 2-0-1 at home.
You may not choose the following players for this game:
Everyone can play!
Statistics / Rosters:
Rensselaer: 12-13 Statistics | 13-14 Roster
Sacred Heart: 12-13 Statistics | 13-14 Roster
Boston College: 12-13 Statistics | 13-14 Roster (beware of J. / M. Gaudreau confusion)
Puck drop is currently set for 1pm on Saturday. Hurry up and get your picks in!
