RPI Pick to Click: 2010-2011 Edition

burgie12

RPI '11 Go Red!
The game is open to everyone! It is most certainly not limited to Engineer fans.

I am stealing the idea from NMU / Clarkson .

The game is pretty simple. Pick one player from both the Engineers and their opponent that you expect to do well on Friday. Repeat the process for Saturday using two different players (that means that you should have four different players for all of the weeks with two games). (The selection process will change for tournaments, but that will be detailed later.) Please, please, please put in your picks for both games before faceoff on Friday. (Extenuating circumstances, such as injury, etc. will let me be more lenient with switching Saturday picks.)

The scoring breakdown to be used is as follows:
Forwards:
Goal - 2 points
Assist - 1 point

Defensemen:
Goal - 3 points
Assist - 2 points

Goalies:
Win - 2 points
Shutout (entire game, a split shutout will not count) - 3 points
Goal - 10 points
Assist - 4 points

The designation of forward / defenseman will be made based upon the position that player is on the line chart for that game.

Various goalie scenarios, just for clarification's sake:
1-0 Win = 5 points
0-0 Tie = 3 points
2-1 Win = 2 points
1-1 Tie = 0 points

A bonus point will be added to the score of the weekly winner(s).

To keep everyone from picking the same two / four players, the top-scoring (that's real points, not PtC points) forward and defenseman from each team (heading into the weekend) cannot be selected.

Scores will be tabulated and posted by me on the Sunday or Monday following games, using the CollegeHockeyStats.net box scores, with the new set of rosters / statistics posted on the same day. The scores will be kept in a Google spreadsheet so everyone can see them.

Link to the scores from the most recent weekend (1st round - Gate)
Link to the rosters / players unavailable this week (NCAA Regionals - NoDak, WMU, DU)
Link to the Google spreadsheet with the PtC standings (the formatting is a bit wonky, but it's all there)

Link back to the title post with details on scoring

RPI faces off against the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds of the AUS on Tuesday, October 5 in an exhibition game. This game is also going to be used as a PtC exhibition to make sure that there is interest and make sure that the scoring system is "fair."

The V-Reds have not started their official season, but should be in game shape with the number of exhibitions they've played so far. <strike>I've struggled finding an updated version of their roster, but I've posted what I have been able to find.</strike> UNB Bruins Fan was kind enough to provide us with a real roster.

RPI has yet to start the season and this will be their first time on the ice this fall looking across at someone that isn't wearing an RPI sweater.

You may not choose the following players for this game:
Rensselaer:
F - Chase Polacek
D - Mike Bergin

UNB:
F - Hunter Tremblay
D - Luke Gallant

Statistics / Rosters:
Rensselaer: 09-10 Statistics | 10-11 Roster (Please realize that it is likely that Brian Brutlag will likely be scored as a forward, despite the fact that he is listed as a defenseman on the roster.)
UNB: 09-10 Statistics | 10-11 Roster

RPI
Cullen
Bailen

UNB
Dickson
Wright
RPI
O'Grady
Rogic

UNB
Clendenning
Wright

There is only one game against UNB, so you only get to pick one player (it's a one-player-per-game-per-team-type game). If neither of you re-submit, I'll use your first selection from each team.

Thanks for handling this, Burgie.

No problem. I think it will be fun.

RPI
Cullen
Bailen

UNB
Dickson
Wright
As previously stated, AspyDad, I'm going to use Cullen and Dickson if you don't repost by faceoff on Tuesday.
RPI - Kerins
As Ralph said, Kerins graduated this past season. However, if you don't resubmit, you're stuck with him. I am not a mind reader (yet).
Thanks for administering, burgie12.
No problem!

I think we're all going to be pretty bad. So, no harm against you :D

Thanks for the heads up Ralph. Hopefully Wright won't trip and break his leg on the way to the rink. :-O Wright was injured 9/15 :-0 Didn't even get to Troy.
