Re: Rpi@osu 10/13/2017

Last time I saw an RPI goalie have to make this many saves, his name was Dick Greenlaw. I am sure Ralph will remember that BU game

Allen York made pretty close to this much vs. Michigan; I think Scott Diebold was close to this vs. Colgate his freshman year.

Re: Rpi@osu 10/13/2017

I recall Don Cutts facing a lot of rubber for a couple of years, though I'm sure he never saw as many shots in a single game as Greenlaw did.

Greenlaw did this (26) for each of 3 periods. He was credited with 78 saves, but from someone who was there, I can tell you they missed perhaps 10-15 more. And BU hit the crossbar and posts at lest 5-6 times more. We had a lot of one sided losses that year (16-1 to Clarkson and i believe 14-0 to Northeastern for example) but that game was tilted downhill for all 3 periods. I would dare say that at least 10 of his saves were of the goal saving spectacular variety. From what i just watched, most are not spectacular to night but we have shown absolutely no ability to stop this one sided assault. The fact that the score is still 1-1 is miraculous and includes a full 2 minute 5 on 3 against us.
BTW unlike the BU team I saw in 1965-66, this OSU team is rather ordinary. So what does that say about us? We have a lot of work to do.

you are spot on about Cutts. But while he was stopping 40+, we would fire about 30+ on the other goal. We are being out shot by over 4 to 1 right now and that is just not going to hack it as the season progresses.

Nice thought but I am not sure I can buy into that just yet
