I vowed not to post on their thread until the season begins. The only exception was to make a post about WaP's Union article. It has been quite to difficult to resist. I even wanted to make a positive comment that their coach made a contribution to SA's Marathon run next weekend despite his apparent hatred for Luke, but I didn't. http://www.defendingtheblueline.org/get-involved/events/adirondack-marathon-memory-richard-curadi/

Re: RPI Offseason Thread: Six Languages of Drivel

An article about hockey analytics with SA being one of the respondents.... "Plus-minus can't be everything. Players that play against others best players, it's harder to have a great plus-minus," said Appert, who said he started thinking about hockey analytics after his brother was drafted by baseball's Oakland A's, the team now well known for being the first to bring Sabermetrics in house....http://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2014/09/19_the_analytics_era.php

Jericho, I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

My criticism was not justified. I had temporarily forgotten that many students arrive on the RPI campus without a lot of knowledge about college hockey.

If any. I recall going to my first game, and thinking the opponent, UCONN, was a big deal. You certainly learn quite a bit after a decade.

It's fine. I know some RPI students who've watched hockey for years and still don't know that.

I wish WRPI would port their internet stream to both the left and right channel. I'd love to listen through my large speaker, but given it's mono left only... :(

Myself, I wouldn't vote against Union as much as I'd vote for '60-'61 Denver. IIRC, they are the only team to be in the all-time top ten in both team defense and team offense. I could see them vs RPI in the Finals.

Monday, 9/22/14, Vote for the 1961 Denver Pioneers. (or against Union:p)
A DU win will set up 2nd round game with the team formerly known as the Fighting Sioux 1987 edition.

What's autumn?

The only four seasons we have around here are almost winter, winter, construction, and August.

:p that's funny.

Glad to be back on the forum after a relaxing summer. Time to poke around and see what I've missed. Very much looking forward to a good season of hockey! :D

Last I checked, there's construction in August. I thought it was "Getting Ready for Winter" instead of construction. :p
