Re: RPI Offseason Thread: 7 Months of Drivel

You guys who come in here and want to pea and moan are thin skinned. Fishcore had a take and it was not disrespectful, it just doesn't line up with your whinning world view. No one ridiculed anyone, grow some thicker skin. I have no issues with peps on the board who go after me for supporting Seth so take it like a man. (
The fellow poster claims to be a long-time season ticket holder and the crack comes back “Get off my lawn”. Anyone with half a brain can realize that’s a low-blow. Those who share the slightest complaint or frustration with the team are called “bedwetters”. You folks in the Cult of Seth can love the coach, you can keep a lock of his hair under your pillow for all I care. And it’s not about name calling. It’s about just the name calling. So many posts offer no more defense of the coach than “you don’t know anything about hockey”. If someone takes a jab at your beloved, call him out with a rational argument, make an effort. Maybe you’ll persuade some of us.

Who's throwing the "low blows"????

Re: RPI Offseason Thread: 7 Months of Drivel

Me too. Endured many 7-6 losses w/ Pete Dicenzo getting three penailites. I have no issues with the friend you talk about but you know that he mailed it in at the end. The women's coach was doing the recruiting, I know that and you know that. SA puts his heart and soul into this thing.

Understand everything you have said here. Still don't understand anyone's beef with my original post. It was factual whether anyone on here wants to admit it or not. And if any RPI fans have a beef that I also enjoy Union games, so be it. I have watched Taylor, Stevens and Hines since they were mites. Some of the parents and relatives of these guys are personal friends of mine. Moving on.

Re: RPI Offseason Thread: 7 Months of Drivel

The investments put into the athletics program at RPI have been exceptional. Look at the locker room improvements, the training facilities at ECAV, and much more. The kids have the tools they need. Now, they must be expected to succeed. When you're in the real world facing a deadline to have a project complete, you don't throw your hands up to the sky and let the bridge collapse, similar to what I heard last week. You apply focus to the correct areas so that everything is pristine and in great working order.

Dude, the above statement is absolutely correct. It is in the solution where you go wrong.
Fire the coach seems to make sense, but we have done that before with little success on the ice. So who do we hire to put us back on top of the ECAC and more relevant in the NCAA?
I am not happy with SA at this point, but coaching is more than on ice performance. This is school, the team changes every year. There is teaching involved and there is maturity involved. From what I have heard from some of the players and their parents who have gone through the program, SA gets high marks.
I wish I had an answer for our on ice performance, that has been totally inconsistent for all the years that I have followed this team and that includes three different coaches.
Give me a guarantee that you can find a coach that includes all of Seth's positives and will bring us back to the top of the NCAA and ECAC and I will jump on your bandwagon.
No guaranty equals no jump.
I wonder how you felt about the firing of Ruff?

I appreciate the effort. A agree there are some bright spots and those are them; plus the Team GPA and the general professionalism he shows. I also am a huge fan of the "stand still during the anthems" discipline. Overall, personally, not enough for me. I'm not a believer am I'm also not saying ride him out of town this instant. We've got to do MUCH better in playoff hockey or the rest is just a consolation prize.

Re: RPI Offseason Thread: 7 Months of Drivel

After reading the past few pages, I must say, mission accomplished. Those who have been disappointed with this team have a voice, and the apologetics are running out of excuses to shout them down.

You don't get it. You never have, and you never will.

No one ever had a problem with your disappointment in the team. It's the why and the how that has always been the problem with most of your ilk.

And there are a lot fewer "apologetics" than you think. God forbid anyone think there are redeemable qualities on the man - so ironic that the jerks throwing around the "Cult of Seth" epithet to anyone who dares bring up positives are slavishly devoted to their own hate.

I'd tell you to grow up, but we all know that will never happen.

I know why I'm becoming less of a fan. It's not the team or its results. It's the constant *****ing and moaning from people like you.

• Siena basketball team makes the Frozen Four

that would be a neat trick! If they score a goal from outside the blue line, do they still get three points??

In most rational businesses, you don't fire the CEO without having a decent replacement in mind first....
