RPI Offseason Thread: 7 Months of Drivel

Re: RPI Offseason Thread: 7 Months of Drivel

I think that Haggerty's torrid scoring pace in October and November may be one of the reasons the offense was so bad the rest of the year. Perhaps some of the other guys who were expected to contribute more to the offense, may have deferred to the hot hand too much and never got back into the flow. One theory, anyway. There are certainly other reasons why this season was so disappointing.
That has also crossed my mind. We won't have that problem next season.

Re: RPI Offseason Thread: 7 Months of Drivel

could be without 3 of the Sr.s plus Haggs and Z. Wonder if another disappointing season will affect the turnout.
after looking at the AHL standings Bridgeport looks to be out of the playoffs & Worcester is 3 points out, so both Higgsy & Beef could be at the banquet (both their regular seasons ends April 19). SC looks to be in the playoffs in the ECHL so if Matt sticks he could be a no-show. Be interesting to see if Haggs and/or Z would be there.

Today is 4 April 2014. There are 183 days (6 months) until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 4 October 2014 for the start of next season.

Re: RPI Offseason Thread: 7 Months of Drivel

Now we have 6 months of drivel left.
Are any of the RPI posters going to Philly for the FF?

Jenny and i gave our tickets away. We would have been going even if RPI was not a participant but this year due to some personal stuff-would not be able to enjoy ourselves there at all. It's a nice arena and the drive takes us about 90 minutes. Would have made theis the 4th frozen four we had attended.

I'm sorry to hear that. I would've made arraignments to meet you and Jenny somehow there. But I completely understand given your personal situation this season. I'm just glad that you are back with us and look forward to chatting with you during the off season. :)

Btw, which FF's did you attend previously?

Re: RPI Offseason Thread: 7 Months of Drivel

Just curious, did anyone notice the banner ad on the USCHO home page for Frozen 3 fan gear?

Re: RPI Offseason Thread: 7 Months of Drivel

As usual, the ECACHL doesn't count.

Almost makes you want to root for Union. Not.

I'm torn. I want the ECAC to have a good showing in the Frozen Four, but I know what's going to happen if they do. I don't know what the lesser of two evils would be in this case.

Re: RPI Offseason Thread: 7 Months of Drivel

There have been several occasions when posts on RPI game threads have remarked that a voice or two has been heard yelling "O's" (true Baltimore Oriole fans yell "O's," not "O") during the national anthem prior to RPI hockey games.

I was at the Orioles - Red Sox game at Camden Yards Thursday night and can report that there was a faint, but audible yell of "Red" during the anthem - prior, of course, to the customary thunderous shout of "O's." :)

We were of course in Detroit for the 1985 win. We were in Albany for 2001 when BC won and we were in lake Placid in 1984 where we sure we would see RPI go and win. I will always feel we got robbed in 1984-first and foremost by the greatest performance by a goalie i ever saw. And a little bit by the officials in that 2 game set. We were supposed to be in Albany for the final held there in the early 90's but unfortunately another family problem intervened(albeit nothing that compared to this year). Truthfully I never expected RPI to get to the Philly final this year-but with the event so close we figured we would take a chance.
