RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

As to your question about black weeks, JCrawford, bylaw 17.12.1 explains this.

Does 17.12.1 mean that RPI shouldn't be playing the games against Denver and the U18 team the weekend of December 13-15? RPI's final exam period is December 11, 12, 13, 16, and 17.

Seems 17.12.1 would also exclude the chance of games prior to January 21, as well, since RPI's winter vacation period is December 18 - January 20.

Commencement has been moved from ECAV to the HFH due to inclement weather. It'll be strange to be in there without the ice!

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

Today is 25 May 2013. There are 133 days (19 weeks) until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 5 October 2013 for the start of next season.

Is there enough room there? That was the reason it was switched to outside originally.

Season ticket holders, watch your mailboxes. I haven't gotten anything in the mail yet myself, but it looks like the 2013-2014 season ticket brochure is up on the RPI Athletics website here: http://www.rpiathletics.com/documents/2013/5/21/13-14_Season_Ticket_Brochure.pdf

Of note: no discount for sending in your order form early this year. They're also introducing an "Engineers VIP Season Ticket Package" at $500, which includes:

Prices are $255 for the general public, $175 for children ages 3-12 and RPI alumni who graduated 3 or fewer years ago, and $213 for faculty, staff, and alumni. Does not look to be an increase in price from last year's price if you ordered after June 15th. Only increase is the "Engineers Pride" membership which is up to $135 from $90 last year (or $120 if you bought a membership without a season ticket package).

If this is a final schedule, then mark your calendar for the "Third Annual RPI Hockey Tailgate", to be held on Saturday, October 19th. Time and location TBD. It should be a nice time for the board folks to meet the incoming Freshmen parents and meet you fellow posters face-to-face. From year 1 to year 2 the event grew exponentially so I'm thinking this will be quite the turnout. Please consider bringing something to share and a beverage of your liking. Go Engineers!!!

That happens to be the day before my birthday....I better lock in a DD right now. And the offer still stands for a hot dog cart for the tailgate.

Hot Dogs and the cart would be awesome! I make a home made onion relish that I'll bring to accompany...

Fantastic, as the time grows closer we can discuss details and whatnot.

Found the right way to burn the gas log thing...we did it for a parents only tailgate during playoffs...it'll be there! The Hubster WILL be there (his first one!) so we will have much to celebrate...!
:)

Any chance of that Irish Cream potent potable that knocked us on our *** in Princeton?;)

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

Barring any unforwseen circumstances (or a late night fyouth football game on that day) I should be there, since it's on a Saturday. DrD, do you want me to bring stuff from the Cookie Factory since you are a Bella Napoli guy?

THAT goes without saying! I always make a batch to warm (or rev) up the crowd...there is also a new addition to the Dutch Caramel potion that you started me on; it's called Fireball (was brought by a fine young squire to the parents' tailgate...I heard I had a good time!:D

I thought they moved it outside because of the heat inside the building, and the first year they were going to do it outside, they had to move it indoors because it was snowing.

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

According to an e-mail from Norris, sections 7 and 9 will be the higher priced sections.

Although the Dutch Caramel is still a Jenny favorite-she has lately been adding the Van Gogh Vanilla to her list. I must admit though-I don't think I ever had anything sneak up on me like that Irish Cream. So smooth, so mild and it just went down so easy and fast-than all of a sudden, I could not feel my teeth! D-Light-Ful!!!

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

Tailgate...October 19

I won't be able to be there this year, I'm on summer/fall co-op and won't be back till mid-November. Going to be on the threads a lot more during the beginning of the season. :)

There really isn't enough room in the HFH - each grad got three tickets that could be used at the HFH and four to use at the video sites. (ECAV basketball arena, Armory, EMPAC) It was packed but the heat really wasn't an issue, and the weather was and is absolutely miserable - cold, windy, rainy. Graduation in the HFH was really great, though, and especially special for lugnut92 and REDaero91! I'm sure the seniors on the men's and women's teams also were happy to get to graduate in such a special place.
