Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

Does anyone care if I start a thread that actually talks about RPI hockey so I don't wast my time reading a bunch of mindless drivel? Look for strong possibility of Minnesota announcing the Mariucci becoming a tournament instead of a set opponent format this year. Should know soon.

I'm all for that!

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

The Autism Society honors Coach Appert. I know he doesn't need/want the recognition but AspyDad had a lot to do with that special game :) http://www.rpiathletics.com/news/2013/5/16/MHOCK_0516133426.aspx
I am all for supporting this great cause and Aspy's dedication to it is to be commended....although I gotta tell ya, I'm not a big fan of encouraging quiet at a hockey game ...:D I'M JUST KIDDING ASPY -- don't flame me !! Great work on this event !

I still find it a little ironic that the first school I saw doing benefits for this was Colgate, and that's who we ended up playing. Ah well, hopefully the society received a great cash benefit from the cause.

Article in today's Times Union "RPI hockey coach honored for autism advocacy"
Congrats to OGC, and a shout out to Aspydad (for the photo credit ;) )!

The article appears in the local news section, not sports...

Great article and a great cause. So much is needed to find a cause for this ever growing problem.
Certainly not "mindless drivel".
Keep up the good work Aspy.

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

Graduation this weekend. I am looking forward to hear Rep. John Lewis' address to the grads... hope it's on the website later in the day.

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

Local CT guys - former and a few current college/D1 guys. Most notable other than the BRO, is Adam Erne -- former BU commit, now w/ Qbc. Remparts, #26 in NA according to CSB.
Thanks, I was too lazy to check if anyone else was notable.

Re: RPI Offseason Part II: Mindless Drivel.

My wife and I went to see "The Place Beyond The Pines" Sunday. No mention or scenes of Union College or their hockey team. However, my favorite line of the movie was when the son of Bradley Cooper's character transferred to Schenectady High School and ran into the son of Ryan Gosling's character. Cooper's kid was checking out the girls, and the conversation went like this:

Cooper's kid: Would you look at that? Look at that. There's no girls like that where I came from.

Gosling's kid: Where'd you come from?

Cooper's kid: Troy.

:D

(For those who don't know, it was filmed entirely on location in Schenectady and surrounding areas. Everything in the movie is their real names/locations.)
