Re: RPI Off-Season Thread 2011: There Will be a Title Here Next Season

On Friday, the Dubuque Fighting Saints defeated the Green Bay Gamblers 4-2 to lead their best-of-five playoff series 2-1. Luke Curadi had an assist, a delay of game penalty and a unsportsmanlike conduct misconduct penalty. http://ushl.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=1597158

Curadi's line is now 10-0-1-1-32.
Total 62-2-10-12-134.
My kind of line-and especially when it also includes a victory!!

Re: RPI Off-Season Thread 2011: There Will be a Title Here Next Season

I cannot believe how much press JL coming to RPI is getting....they are calling it the Rapture and that it is happening today around 6pm....

If the kid stays healthy-I just cannot see him not being a big impact not only at RPI, but in the ECAC overall. Some players do well not because of being the biggest, or the fastest, or the best shot-they just have some intangible something that you cannot put into words. Just the beauty of this sport. I look forward to seeing him in Troy for as many years as possible.

One would think that someone who played 5 years in the CHL without going somewhere better wouldn't leave, but ...

Monty and the Dubuque Fighting Saints have won the Clark Cup. Luke ends it with a cross-checking penalty at about 58 minutes.

This video was just released from our neighbors to the west in Pyongyang after learning Luke Curadi is on his way to Troy after winning the USHL title.

Re: RPI Off-Season Thread 2011: There Will be a Title Here Next Season

Today is 22 May 2011. There are 132 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 1 October for the start of next season.

That is the day that an exhibition game is supposedly scheduled.

Re: RPI Off-Season Thread 2011: There Will be a Title Here Next Season

Was reading an article today and the goalie coach for the Canucks had the last name Melanson...any chance he's related to the recruit for you guys ?

Congrats to BIG BRO and the beautiful Babo on capturing the Clark Cup.

I knew they were up to no good down in the south. :D

Re: RPI Off-Season Thread 2011: There Will be a Title Here Next Season

Just wanted to mention that the Dubuque Fighting Saints got a mention from Mike Emrick in yesterday's telecast of the Boston/Tampa Bay game.
It seems that one of the reporters has a son on that team.

Correction, Adam Micheletti is not a player, but Director of Hockey operations for the Saints. :o

Monty and the Dubuque Fighting Saints have won the Clark Cup. Luke ends it with a cross-checking penalty at about 58 minutes.

Nice to have a champion on our club for next year. Now if we can add some more to his resume over the next 4 years....;)

Re: RPI Off-Season Thread 2011: There Will be a Title Here Next Season

Nice to have a champion on our club for next year. Now if we can add some more to his resume over the next 4 years....;)

If the ECAC pulls a USHL at the start of the season, though, we should demand that RPI moves to Hockey East.

Thinking about Dubuque, does anyone know of another expansion team in any sport that one a championship their first year? (A whole new league doesn't count.)

The Albany Legends of the International Basketball League won its league title last year as an expansion team....the IBL for those of you who dont know, is like the lowest level of semi-pro hoops you can get..

Please explain for the unenlightened among us - what would the ECAC have to do in order to be considered as having "pulled a USHL?"
