RPI Off-Season 2013 Part I: We Will Get Our Title Next Season

Re: RPI Off-Season 2013 Part I: We Will Get Our Title Next Season

For someone who has complained for years here about off-topic posts I have been posting a lot about Mike Hermann. Here's another.

How can anything be "off-topic" during the off-season??

I like the idea of trying to have a collective tailgate on line. Perhaps in the guise of a score thread for an NHL playoff game many would be watching anyway? Or perhaps during a USMNT soccer qualifier???

Thanks for posting this. This guy can play. And as Brett Hull said about Oates; ...you can't be dumb and go to RPI." It is too bad that the FB coaching situation was so screwed up his last two seasons or he may have developed even more and the Engineers may have gotten him a few more weapons on offense. Imagine him with a really good tight end and a deep threat to open things up.
I'm rooting for him to catch on, at least with the practice squad.

It's also quite interesting reading the comments with several of these articles.

Re: Cause of May 7 Explosion Identified

A Rensselaer student has been identified as the individual who
intentionally caused an explosion of a substance in a soda bottle near a
campus residential facility May 7. According to the findings of a
preliminary investigation, household bleach was placed in the bottle
with a heating device, causing an explosion when an Institute employee
moved the bottle to a dumpster. The case is being adjudicated through
the student judicial process, and the incident is under investigation by
the Troy Police Department.

The employee was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries and
released. The incident took place near the Rousseau residence building,
which was evacuated while police and the regional HazMat team
investigated. Students were allowed to return at 6 p.m. following a
room-by-room search that found no additional suspicious materials.

that's quite a bit more serious than the standard chemlab prank of mixing ammonia and iodine crystals and then pouring the mixture through a coffee funnel....

Just want to wish lugnut92 a very happy 21st birthday here. :) The cake was hockey themed, but the Blue Note's easier to draw than the RPI seal in frosting. :p

I couldn't help but think of Doc while watching the tail end of the Pens blow out vs. the Isles last night. Not surprisingly, the last few minutes turned into a rugby match. Following a time out Bielsma sent out big D man Doug Murray as a forward -- to stand in front of the net to be sure none of the Pens forwards got cheap-shotted. I Couldn't help but think of Appert doing same with the BRO net season...:D

If he didn't do it last year when Bailen was cheap-shotted, he's not going to do it next season.

I saw the same thing-and also flipped in time to see the end of Montreal/Ottawa where the almost identical thing happened. When you are in the final game and you have blown out the opposition-there is little risk for someone to take a cheap shot. I have seen it for my entire life. You have to be ready for it, prepare for it, and have the right personnel on the ice.
