RPI Off-Season 2013 Part I: We Will Get Our Title Next Season

Re: RPI Off-Season 2013 Part I: We Will Get Our Title Next Season

There was a bit of a kerfluffle earlier about it; apparently the definition is "whomever wins the election." The only criteria to qualify apparently is to be in top 100 post count (though it wasn't clear to me if that was all time or just for the prior year), with some arcane adjustments made.

There was a [cough] attempt to redefine it by certain parties to consider it poseur of the year based on a formula that would have made FS23 proud, but that attempt was emphatically rejected.

You disgraced the process, anyway. What a shocker from someone who thinks he runs these boards.

Re: RPI Off-Season 2013 Part I: We Will Get Our Title Next Season

A statistic that might be interesting(but probably also not easy to come up with) is the average posting lifespan. I notice some who post at an incredible rate who do so for a few years and then are never heard from again. I am just amazed that i remain in the top 10 for total posts but almost 14 years is a long time. i figure if Ralph stopped posting at noon today-I would probably have to keep posting for 35 years or more to catch up to his total. (and by then, FlagDude would be well beyond me)

Assuming someone in the political threads doesn't lead me to a heart attack.

Re: RPI Off-Season 2013 Part I: We Will Get Our Title Next Season

They use the top in all-time post count, throwing out those who have not posted at all in the past year. That means that they get further than 100 in the list. There is no simple way of figuring out who posted the most in the past year.

Actually, there is a really simple way to figure out who posted the most in the past year...on 1-1 of the year you download the total post count; then on 12-31 you do the same, and the latter minus the former gives you the answer!

Of course, that would mean that the [descriptive noun] who run the poll would have to have the foresight actually to do this.....

I'm not good enough for you, eh?

You had your turn in the finals last year, as your signature constantly reminds us [over and over and over]. Don't be [so] selfish, eh? :p

Now, if the contest truly were a "poseur" of the year, that would be a different story, no?

Actually, the signature is a "dig-it" to #26's tournament participation banner. I'll be adding each year I participate, even if I don't make it past the first round. ;)

Also, if you decide whose "turn" it is, I'm going to start calling you head of the RNC.:D

I didn't regard that as so simple. :)

Thanks. We have known that since RPI's tentative schedule was given out at the BRF!

You can in a Veyron. But you might burn through a set of tires.

Actually, the fuel tank is sized to run out of fuel if you push to top speed specifically so the special purpose built tires dont delaminate. Monster car. Maybe we can get Jenny to consider passing on the 2 Bentleys to make a deposit on this bad boy ? :)

We have a neighbor who has one. He is a well known celebrity and has several of these dream cars. He brings his car for service to the Audi dealership we use (the engine is apparently actually 2 separate 8 cylinder Audi engines slapped together to make a 16 cylinder monster. A while ago he told us that the tires last about 10,000 miles and have to be specially imported at about $20,000+ for a set. Jenny cannot see over the dash in it:eek:. BTW I am pretty sure the engines in the Bentleys are also Audi made.

Now to RPI hockey-does anyone know for sure if they will be up in Troy for the Denver visit next year? We are looking at that weekend as a real possibility for us.

Re: RPI Off-Season 2013 Part I: We Will Get Our Title Next Season

according to the schedule they gave out Denver is in Troy Dec. 13 & 14 7pm starts...Sun. the 15th is the USA Team @ 4pm. That's what the schdeule reads Doc. Sorry Doc, after re-reading your post I see you meant if anyone from afar was making the trip :o

Nicky Bailen is not in tonights game for Rochester but I did listen to the pregame show & they are looking forward to what can bring from the blueline at the pro level. FWIW, the Big Bad Bruins just called up Torey Krug D-man from Prov. 5'9" 175...1 year removed from Mich. St.

Exactly-looking like a really good weekend to be in Troy. By then we will know what kind of team we have-Denver will of course be good.

it's a shame it took this long to get DU here....would've been nice to have had the Col.'s son Chris here before he graduates this year...same can be said with playing BC. Isn't one of the posters here Patch Albers Dad?....who also graduates this year.

Yes on both. Albers' dad mentioned that some time ago.

I think have seen Denver play us in Troy 3 games and we lost them all. Once way back when I was in Medical school in the 60's and Jenny and i saw them in Troy for a 2 game set in the early 80's a couple years before we had the powerhouse teams. It is about time to have them visit again.
