AspyDad's Annual Awards

MVP: Nick Bailen
ROY: Jason Kasdorf
Most Improved: Johnny Rogic
Parent of the Year: Babo
Fan of the Year:Fishcore (because I can't give it to myself)
Worst ECAC Ref: Tie , Baker, Kotrya and Hicks.
Dr. Sheldon Cooper Award: FDude
Life Achievement Award: Jack Parker
College Hockey Marketing Person of the Year:Sachi Ena
Coach of the Year: Seth Appert

I want to thank AspyDad for this award, but somehow I feel like it was earned the way I will earn my employee of the week award at work someday, nobody else left to win it and the boss cant give it to himself. If it wasnt for AspyDad and his trademark cobra strike method of enlightining the referees, I wouldnt have been able to win this award. One question I have to AspyDad is how could you leave troyboy off this list...poor guy has to deal with you all the time, not just at the rink. :)

OK... I think...

But in all seriousness, if anyone deserves Most Improved out there, it has to be Travis Fulton. Look where he started, and look how he battled his way up to earn his spot. Sure, we were down forwards and that's how he got ice time, but just like Kazzy, he made the most of his opportunity.

When do the FlagDude awards come out?

Hey jmhusker, you owe me a beer.
It sure seems that way. You can't collect until next year though!

Now the real question for everyone... who would you rather see eliminated Union or Brown? I find myself rooting for all upsets now. BU, Mercyhurst, CC, Michigan or OSU and Brown. I'm hoping that enough of these will knock Niagara out of the tournament. I blame them for us not being alive right now.

I blame RPI for RPI not being alive right now. Nobody else to blame. You dont win when you need to, in my mind you dont move any further. Pack up your gear, start the off-season training and come back stronger next year.

That's too obvious. All I'm saying is that Niagara ended our season a day earlier than it had to by guaranteeing an autobid. So I'm looking for poetic justice here. Enough autbids and they are on the outside with only themselves to blame. We at least battled and in reality outplayed a team (Brown) that has smoked everyone else in the ECAC so far. There's no shame in that.

Fishy has a point, though. Take in 2011 when we had a shot at a first round bye. Everything in the world of the ECAC helped us to get the bye, but one thing was missing... oh right, we weren't able to get it done. We lacked off and, to quote Brock Higgs from a press conference after playing Union last year, "played like ****", basically saying that we didn't want it. Here was the exact same thing. If we can't help ourselves, why in the hell should we expect other teams to help us?

I'd rather see the roof cave in and both teams have to forfeit.

As for that beer, if you're ever coming out this way, like for the State Fair, you can always pay up then.

You guys are missing my point. I understand why we are out. What I'm saying is that we didn't have to be out yet. I didn't expect us to make it if Niagara did win. I just wanted one more day of thinking you never know what might happen. Stop blaming the team about the past - I've already let that go. I'm now focused on revenge for teams that ended my season a day sooner than hoped.

I also hope that Viagara...oops Niagara doesn't make it. It would be hilarious. I think Michigan wins the CCHA, so no problem there.

Well I suppose if a roof is destined to cave in on an arena during a game it may as well be tonight. After all.. there will only be about 25 fans in the building so at least any loss of life will be minimized.

Oh, so you're blaming other people for our inability to make the tournament? Quite frankly, you're starting to sound like me during my anger stage.

Re: RPI Off-Season 2013 Part I: We Will Get Our Title Next Season

I was just thinking (a bad thing for me to do). I always use the end of RPI's last game as stated in the boxscore for calculating things like the midpoint of our offseason. Should I do that, or should I use some time on Friday when we officially were eliminated? If the latter is the case, which game being over officially ended our season? I wasn't following things well.

Union beating Yale was when our chances fell to 0%. That said, I think you should consider our last game played as the end of our season.

Totally get where you are coming from. Did not mean to open a can of worms from FlagDude with my comments.
