RPI @ Northeastern, Friday night!

Re: RPI @ Northeastern, Friday night!

Two good games in a row and no wins to show for it.
The team is playing well and it looks like it will be a good season for us.
Just need to pick up the offense a little, and we will be fine. PK is outstanding.

Re: RPI @ Northeastern, Friday night!

Great gritty game. No quit in RPI ...gotta like that as an early season sign. Sure I wanted the win, but I really like the hustle tonight.

Re: RPI @ Northeastern, Friday night!

Overall grade tonight. Defense gets a B+ and the penalty kill gets an A. Offense gets a B- but the power play gets a B+. Not exceptional but perhaps our best effort thus far. The defense is solid. The offense still needs some work. If we are going to score by committee as the coach said-then the committee has yet to be formed. But we are making some progress. Now let's take out all our frustrations tomorrow night. Go Red!

Re: RPI @ Northeastern, Friday night!

Which one of Brutlag's pile-ups in the NU crease didn't you like? :-)

I think we are physical enough up front-perhaps a little too physical and getting called for it. But I would like to see some more size up there-still hoping to see Tinordi in there tomorrow night. I do like the fact that we seem to be holding teams to 2 goals against each night. That is a nice number to shoot for and if the offense can get going a bit will make for a nice number of wins.

There's nothing wrong with being too physical. I'd more prefer that to the other extreme. As for size, give Brutlag a chance to build up some muscle mass, and he'll be a force to be reckoned with in front. Obviously you can't teach size, but you can teach muscle. If Bryan is going to want it up front during the power play, he'll be able to get it.
