RPI @ Niagara 11/18/09

Re: RPI @ Niagara 11/18/09

Screw these games. We're still 3-1 in the ECAC. We keep doing what we did in those four games and this is long forgotten in a month.

Re: RPI @ Niagara 11/18/09

Doc, to be honest, I wouldn't read a whole lot into this game.
I talked about it at the beginning of this thread. There just was not a lot to play for coming in and Niagara was eager to get their first win.
We will not be a good team until we learn how to win these games.
Losing to teams like Niagara and Army is just not acceptable.
We will be ok in the ECAC, but OOC games will be more difficult. Winning is still new to us, but we will get the hand of it. Too much talent on this team.

Just pointing out again some of the weaknesses. The PK is atrocious. Yes we are injured but we have put up no offense now for two games and it shows where we are still just being outplayed. I knew tonight would be tougher than it looked on paper but they are just peppering our goal with shots.

Re: RPI @ Niagara 11/18/09

Yeah Doc, seriously, you're really starting to annoy me with all of this doom and gloom all the time. I mean, no ****, the PK sucks right now. Let's dwell on it some more.

Chin up dude.

Re: RPI @ Niagara 11/18/09

RPI can't manage anything with the extra attacker despite a flurry of shots and this one will go in the books as a 4-1 win for Niagara.

Would feel a lot better with a couple wins in the Tournament coming up:)

Re: RPI @ Niagara 11/18/09

RPI empty net-why?

Usually in about the last two minutes of a game, if a team is behind, they will often pull the goalie, leaving the net defenseless, for an extra attacker, in order to have a better chance of scoring.

Re: RPI @ Niagara 11/18/09

RPI Hockey is 6-1-0 when RPI TV is in attendance (if you count the PEI shootout as a victory, and if you count the Union game which we didn't broadcast but the entire club was there).

I'll be glad to have them back in Troy for the Holiday Tournament next weekend.

Down by 3 goals????

Re: RPI @ Niagara 11/18/09

Game ends with RPI on the losing end of a 4-1 score.
Again, I don't take too much from this game. I see us finally winning our own tournament next week and going on from there.
Appert will have them ready for the tournament and we should be healthy.
Until then, these guys have to get back to class.;)

Re: RPI @ Niagara 11/18/09

Yes, that was covered in my last post.

Appreciated your sarcastic wit-but in over 45 years of RPI hockey I cant ever remember a team pulling their goalie down by 3 goals with a minute to play having it be successful for them-just wondered why SA would do it being down by that much. I could understand even if it was 2 goals and I just thought he was trying to make some sort of statement by doing it.
