RPI @ Miami 1/2/16

Re: RPI @ Miami 1/2/16

Not happy with the third period prevent defense, but they got away with it.
See you back here tomorrow at 5PM.

Engineers win!!!!!!!!!!

Re: RPI @ Miami 1/2/16

Tense last couple minutes but we held on and won a really important game. This is one we could have easily let slip but i think this group of boys is starting to show they can hold onto the lead. Go Red!! Let's not take tomorrow lightly and come home with a sweep.

Time for a Dewars. Make it a double.
I think here we will celebrate a bit lightly with some Harveys Bristol Cream Sherry. Tomorrow might deserve a bit stronger and of course Jenny and i always attend Princeton with some fortification.

A win tomorrow and there is a shot we could be in Jason Moy's first Bracketology?

Re: RPI @ Miami 1/2/16

Their first.win over Miami since 1984. Congrats, men. Let's try to do it again tomorrow.

First since '84? Was that '83/'84 or '84/'85. Either year, I like the comparison. Go Red on Sunday afternoon!

Re: Jason Moy's bracketology... It's January. I'm mildly interested in such things now. ;)

PS, From Seth Appert's twitter feed, did you see what PK Subban did at the Children's Hospital of Montreal recently?
Scroll down @PKSubban1 @HopitalChildren (spelling is ok) @AirCanada date: 12/24/15

Would certainly be nice. I have been feeling just being mentioned would have some national voters take notice that we are there. i sense that once you get up in the polls, you tend to stay there but breaking into the top 20 can be difficult.

Re: RPI @ Miami 1/2/16

December '84 of the National Championship year. it was a mismatch from the drop of the puck.

According to my scorecard the shots were 55-17 in our favor. :)

Goals by DiPronio, Oates, Carter, Butryn, Servinis, Carter, Oates, Jooris, and Foland.

Not sure about Bracketology, but you may see RPI with a shot at the top 20. Before Thanksgiving, I had said that Shillelagh and Miami were the key to getting national "respect". Second in the Shillelagh is a bit meh, but if we can pull a sweep here, we may be able to get somewhere, especially if Miami then picks up their play in the second half of the season.

Re: RPI @ Miami 1/2/16

I hear you but the sad statistics are that if your are not in the first one, your odds of being in the last one are not very good.

Heightened from near nil if you are "on the bubble", though, which we at least were when entering this game. That's not necessarily a bad place to be at this time, since you're at least in the hunt. With a 7-5 NC record thus far, it's right now slightly better than 12-13 (ended up going 6-7-2 counting the conference tournament; 5-5-2 if you don't) if you account for games in hand. Not as good as 10-11 (9-3-3 counting conference tournament; 8-1-3 if you don't), obviously, but there. As a point of comparison, in 09-10, we went 8-8-1 in NC play (7-6-1 if you don't count the tournament), and I don't recall us becoming a TUC that year, although we were close (loss to AHA and CHA teams didn't help our cause much). Take it for what it's worth.
