Just something to think about-Haggerty not in the game last night and he has been scoring at a clip of one goal per game fairly consistently. If he had played last night and scored his average-perhaps we could have been up that one extra goal before MU scored late in the third(with their eventual winner). With most of our games being just so close-you never know.![]()
Over the years i have followed at RPI, there have been years where we have either been so good or just so bad that one goal or one play per game just would have not made much difference. But for the majority of years-and this year is no exception-almost every game is a nail biter and any small change can often make the difference between win/lose/tie. On the scoreboard and on the scoresheet and in the national statistics those kinds of things never show up. Krach ratings/RPI/PWR all the systems of rating just never can show that but often the difference between all of us going home happy or frustrated can be something very minor.
Now being up 2-0 can we find a way to win a second and third period? Will penalties make a difference as they often do?
Isn't there a rating system out there that puts a determination upon how many goals are scored?
That is not at all what i was indicating. You cannot quantify some things-a penalty getting called or not called, the what if situation if someone had played or not played-etc.
