Re: RPI Hockey 2019 - 2020: Nordic Combined

Doc I believe the League is weak this year there are 3 Elite teams cocked & loaded the rest of the league is a crap shoot that presents opportunity for a couple of teams to step up and seperate from the pack one of the ways do do that is have your goalie steal a couple of games so if we can overachieve and ride Savory good things could happen but that's why they play the games.

Agree. Don't get me wrong -I am very optimistic from what I have seen so far this year. But as you well know that the ECAC is just so unpredictable. Every so often one or two teams will just pull away from the rest. This is likely this year and RPI could be anywhere from a bye team to a home ice first round team to just missing out. We are on the road this week at Princeton and QU and the betting people are showing us as a one goal underdog each night. Win percentage anywhere from 42% Friday down to 32% Saturday. But these numbers, on the road, are better than we have been listed with for some time. Personally i think we can play with both these teams but we need a good first period both nights.

I just picked you guys for a road sweep. Don't let me down.

New nameplate outside of Field House. Saw them putting it up on Monday. I like it a lot, looks really nice

Looks nice but they misspelled "RPI."

You of all people should know that you never bet for or against RPI in the regular season or the playoffs:eek:
Now Clarkson and Cornell are completely different stories:rolleyes:

Gotta use the html embed tag. The part that says "Houston Field House" looks nice, but I'm never going to like the Rensselaer wordmark.

Check out Red Army's recap of last weekend, which also highlights some players who deserve more recognition than they are receiving, and a preview of this weekend's games.

*heavy sigh*

Just handing points to teams we'll be fighting with for home ice. Excellent strategy.

Bad play under pressure by Kjellberg for the tying goal (or it just rolled off his stick at the wrong time) but we should have scored a couple more. Too many penalties again, which is a concern. Considering we haven't won at Princeton since 14-15, it's not the worst result in the world, but a road win tomorrow will be needed to make it a good weekend. Re: RPI Hockey 2019 - 2020: Nordic Combined

Until last night, I didn't realize the advantage the Quinnipiac and Princeton have in Saturday Night ECAC games.
As travelling partners, the visiting team has to play a Friday Night game that ends somewhere around 9:30PM.
By the time they get on the bus to travel, it has to be at least 10:30PM. Getting them into the Saturday opponents area in the middle of the night because of the distance between the two schools.
And that doesn't account for any stops.
That would seem to be a big disadvantage for all ECAC visitors to to those venues. JMO

It most certainly is. Just don't say it too loudly because all of the western posters here think that all eastern travel is short. :)

Good observation, I never internalized it until I checked the difference between DC and HU. It]n fact, it's closer to the distance between RPI and UVM. I've learned my "one new thing" for today. Thanks EHF :D
