RPI Hockey 2018 - 2019 Part II: We're Just Gonna Complain, Don't Bother Reading

Re: RPI Hockey 2018 - 2019 Part II: We're Just Gonna Complain, Don't Bother Reading

The search is probably because of Nolan Graham's situation, and the newest AC was brought in on a temporary basis. But if you think one AC will help this, I'd say you're looking into these posts a bit too much. It's not the concepts that are the problem, but rather the execution. The coaches can preach until the cows come home, but at the end of the day, it's up to the players to get the job done on the ice.

Landcows or seacows? ;)

Is that the one who flew over the moon, or does not count because there is no air there? ;)

Given how the game's going thus far, I'd say the little dogs are laughing.

And the dirty stuff in my sink is now missing.

That sucked to say the least. Team looked like they didn't want to be there. I wanted to end the year on a high note and instead it looks like we're not going to be anywhere close to good next season

Since the word is that Coach Smith is looking for a new assistant coach maybe a new assistant can help overcome mediocrity.

Critical decision for RPI and Coach Smith. Will he choose an assistant coach with considerable D-I playing experience as a forward with coaching experience who can help to transition the recruits from junior hockey to D-I while at the same time help improve players like Polino, Burgess and Zieky in their final year or will he once again take a former D-III 2/3 goaltender?
Players today easily identify coaches who have very limited playing experience and have gained any knowledge they might have by just reading hockey books or attending seminars where real coaches give presentations.
The decision on a replacement for Jewell will likely be a turning point whether things turn up, down or stay the same could be contingent upon just one hire.
