Oh, ok I get it. Not so sure Hack will still be here though. I’m sure SA has this covered just like he did when you know who bailed.

BTW, WaP pointed out that Perry was chosen 14 picks ahead of you-know-who in the same draft. :)

Yes, I did see that. Interesting. Obviously having one of them here this year would have been beneficial (Perry wouldn’t have been). Then again if it weren’t for Hack who knows where we’d be right now. Butterfly Effect I guess.

Its a bad idea. Having two freshmen goalies leaves a lot of questions at the most important position on the ice. Breaking the cycle is just as difficult. I don't like it.

Appert didn't plan this but it's the situation he was dealt when what's his name decommitted. If Hackett continues his upward trend, he may not be here for three years , also Perry is a DET draft pick - should he play lights out, Grand Rapids could come calling. That's the reality in college hockey today. Bottom line is plenty of variables between now and 2019.

Re: RPI Hockey 2015 - 2016:: Six Flags Over the HFH

Yes, but it appears that the 2 early losses in Alaska are still keeping RPI out of the poll. They have played 7 games against top 20 teams and are 3-3-1(?). Mich. Tech., just ahead of the Engineers in the poll have played 2 games (Bowling Green) against top 20 teams and split, yet they are ahead of RPI, probably because they won two games in Alaska last week.

RPI needs to keep this surprising start going with a win at home against Dartmouth on Friday. that would put them at 5-0-2 in the ECAC and 9-5-2 overall, a start almost nobody would have predicted in September. LGR!

There is only one team in the top 20 with five losses, UMD.

You're right about Friday's game, Jasma, the best thing we can do is win Friday then think about who's next.

I'm not that concerned with the poll or pwr yet... it's early December. Just win, baby.

Not so odd. It's Engineer hockey. :)

Are you sure it is not just ECAC official's hockey? We have had a tradition for getting called a bit more often but the differential this year is just so obvious. How many majors have been called on opponents? How many 2 man advantages have we been granted? 15 games into the season and nothing seems to change. usually the team leading (and we have won or tied all our ECAC games) doesn't have to take the chances that the team trailing does and takes fewer penalties. Plus, i just do not see us as the most physical team in the league. Really do think our reputation precedes us and is most certainly discussed before each game.

Re: RPI Hockey 2015 - 2016:: Six Flags Over the HFH

I’m wondering if Nanne might miss Saturday’s game. He came off the ice with his left shoulder drooping & was in obvious pain after the HFB. Shoulders & RPI hockey have not been good of late.

SA’s PostGame. What bugs me is his comment how all of Bob Gaudet’s teams play with “great jump”. Why is it then can’t his? A great opportunity was lost because the team was flat, slow, not together. Again, score a tying goal, grab the momentum & in seconds take an elbowing penalty. Worst game I’ve seen them play this year. Silver lining?......it took this long maybe. I don’t know. Just when I start to allow myself to be optimistic an all too familiar stinker! Here’s the video.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNxPnMbd-8U

All true. RPI teams of the past decade seem to take penalties at the worst possible moments - right after scoring or allowing a goal, or late in a close game, etc.
as big an issue is the constant flux in the lineup due to injuries. These things normally go in cycles, but the injury bug hit this program 3 or 4 years ago and seems to have never left. Let's hope Fulton is back tonight because they clearly missed his energy and tenacity last night.

We didn't play well last night, but it wasn't awful. We let them dictate the pace and I think that they were able to do that because of our lineup.
Why did we have only 11 forwards? Where was Fulton? Speed kills a team like Dartmouth, and we sit a player with his kind of speed. Also, changing lines because we lost one game? What's up with that?
Rodriguez was great on the third line. Bourbonnais is our leading scorer on the first line, so lets change those two guys.
I don't know what prompted those changes, I just hope it wasn't a reaction to our loss to Harvard last week.

For what it's worth, I thought this may have been the best game we've played this year. You hit the nail on the head - the teams that have given the Big Green trouble have been fast and talented up front -- (Harvard and Michigan). We don't have a lot of high end talent like in years past which, and our meltdowns have started with special teams (our PP and Kill have been brutal). Thought our Kill last night looked great, but may have been a reflection of an off night for RPI's PP. Good luck the rest of the year!

Thanks for your input. It is always great to hear what the opponents fans see. It just kind of opens up the picture.
Dartmouth played an excellent game yesterday. That shouldn't be overlooked.

Re: RPI Hockey 2015 - 2016:: Six Flags Over the HFH

Will tonight's game be broadcast or on RPI radio? Harvard is not broadcasting this weekend's games.

If so, can someone post the link?
