If RPI continues these winning ways, I'll have to switch my allegiance from Union to the Red and White. I know you'll welcome me onto the bandwagon with open arms...
We do not accept easily. In fact there are a few that we are looking to toss away. Besides, we limit the number that we allow so you just might have to wait until someone dies.

RPI isn't going to collect the pieces that fall off the bandwagon.

I'll hold my arms out to "welcome" him... ...and then do a back-bend and flip him over and right back out of the wagon. Always be aware of the one that has relegated to the corner. ;)

Re: RPI Hockey 2015 - 2016:: Six Flags Over the HFH

Disappointing game last night. I wouldn't have minded the loss if we played our game, but Harvard dictated the pace and had puck possession for most of the game.
I don't think that this will affect our meeting in league play, as Harvard has not seen what we are capable of.
We had a good streak and showed how good we could be. Now we have to go back to the type of play the created the nine game unbeaten streak.
Start a new one.

lets go red!!!!!!!!!!

Re: RPI Hockey 2015 - 2016:: Six Flags Over the HFH

Praps was the only player not from Harvard named to the All-Tourney Team..... Earlier in the afternoon, Harvard won the 2015 Shillelagh Tournament Championship with a 4-0 victory over RPI. Harvard forwards Jimmy Vesey, Alexander Kerfoot and Kyle Criscuolo as well as defenseman Victor Newell were named to the All-Tournament Team, along with RPI defenseman Prapavessis.

Harvard goaltender Merrick Madsen stopped 60 of 61 shots he faced over the weekend to earn All-Tournament and Most Outstanding Player honors. http://www.rpiathletics.com/news/2015/11/28/MHOCK_1128153125.aspx

Not hockey but....... Patricia worked his way up the coaching ladder for a half-dozen years in the college ranks before getting his NFL shot. An aeronautical engineering major and offensive lineman at RPI in the early 1990s, Patricia began what promised to be a lucrative career as an engineer for two years before he could no longer resist football's pull..... http://www.csnne.com/new-england-patriots/more-xs-and-os-patricia-inspires-patriots-defense

Just another RPI grad making a mark... :)

Re: RPI Hockey 2015 - 2016:: Six Flags Over the HFH

Yes, but it appears that the 2 early losses in Alaska are still keeping RPI out of the poll. They have played 7 games against top 20 teams and are 3-3-1(?). Mich. Tech., just ahead of the Engineers in the poll have played 2 games (Bowling Green) against top 20 teams and split, yet they are ahead of RPI, probably because they won two games in Alaska last week.

RPI needs to keep this surprising start going with a win at home against Dartmouth on Friday. that would put them at 5-0-2 in the ECAC and 9-5-2 overall, a start almost nobody would have predicted in September. LGR!

Re: RPI Hockey 2015 - 2016:: Six Flags Over the HFH

I think that it makes more sense to post this here than on the Recruit thread. With goalie recruit Chase Perry having three years of eligibility because he played for CC last year, it means that both he and Hackett will be in the same class (2019). We have been in that situation before, e.g. Marsters and Kurk and before that Laing and Prekaski (and Selander and Bombay on this year's women's team). I have mixed feelings about this. Do others think that it is good or bad?

BTW, Perry's commitment means that it is very unlikely that Kasdorf will use his red-shirt season although the thought that Hackett could be one-and-done also crossed my mind.

Its a bad idea. Having two freshmen goalies leaves a lot of questions at the most important position on the ice. Breaking the cycle is just as difficult. I don't like it.

Re: RPI Hockey 2015 - 2016:: Six Flags Over the HFH

Gotta get some gear grinding off my chest; even I will be the first to admit this is pontification...

I'm glad that Appert believes that the person who gives us the best chance to win gets to start, not based upon some seniority hierarchy. What grinds my gears is when he turns around and talks about depending on your juniors and seniors when it comes to key moments. I can't jovially wave the red flag on this one in all fairness because we've seen underclassmen in key moments of the game this year, such as the last two minutes when we're trying to hold a lead, while talking about juniors and seniors was a comment made last year. I really hope he doesn't turn around and start pushing the junior/senior angle again, because it sends a VERY mixed signal.

I feel much better now.

Maybe I’m missing something but who are the 2 freshmen goalies?
