RPI Hockey 2014-2015 Part II: Dedicated to Rich Curadi

And i thought we were the only ones posting here that were there for that. The building erupted.

No, I was definitely there. In fact, not only was there a photo of me and my friend in the Times Union (which I still have) but we ended up with a closeup of us on ESPN. If you have the entire game on tape or disc somewhere, we were on just prior to the start of the second period. :)

The entire game is on Youtube; the link I posted is just part 1.

Do you know if it a copyright issue? Theoretically if one still had a tape of the game could they legally post it?

I don't know, but since the PC game is on line and the NCAA is trying to sell that it's hard to believe the UMD game could be a problem.

I have a deteriorating Betamax recording of the UMD game which a friend converted to DVD. However when he did it, he ran out of room with about a minute left, missing Carter's GWG. He didn't understand that I regarded that as more important than the video quality.

I wonder whatever happened to the student who inhabited Swarm's costume in 1985.

I'm not sure it would have done him much good if he were applying for a job in engineering, but if I were the hiring authority at, say, an advertising firm and I came across a resume that said "I came up with an idea that resulted in thousands of otherwise disinterested Michigan State fans becoming enthusiastic supporters of my school's team," I'd want to take a good close look at the guy who submitted it. :)

I grew up chasing him around and yanking on his stinger. Was probably my 2nd favorite part of going to games, behind harassing the opposing teams band when they were there (sat in section 10).

I'm no expert on custom costume design, but doesn't 6k seem like a lot?

That was not a student, but grabbing the Michigan State flag and skating around Joe Louis Arena with it was brilliant!

Although I agree that Wood deserves a suspension, Vasaturo is in the starting lineup for Union.

Anyone know why Bubela didn't play against Dartmouth?
Painful loss tonight. Kasdorf has to be great for this team to compete and he has only been good most of the year. This will be another 20 + loss season. It is hard to watch this program sink farther and farther into the muck. On to the dreaded north country trip. I only wish I could be at least a little optimistic. LGR!

He was a healthy scratch. I don't recall SA's exact words in the pregame interview.

Another disciplinary or "head" issue. Along with numerous injuries there have been several of those this season and now we are looking at another 20 + loss season. Two goals or fewer in 21 of 28 games and less than great goaltending and poor defensive zone play in several games. This team seems to have lost its way. They just can't put together 3 periods of good hockey for more than 1, or at best 2 games in succession. Let's hope they get healthy and can get at least 2 points up north. LGR!
