Re: RPI Hockey 2014-2015: Dedicated to Rich Curadi

Hockey is a very frustrating game when the referees don't have to give an explanation for their actions. I am sure that Princeton was frustrated on Friday and we certainly could have used an explanation last night.
There were many positives we should take from last nights game.
We played a very good team with a lineup that didn't include four of our best players, and we played them even for sixty minutes. I am sure that Kasdorf would like that first goal back, so Q got an easy one to tie the game.
We could have folded at that time, but we played on. I know that the third period didn't look very good, but we lost another two players. Maybe fatigue had something to do with it.
I like this team more every time I see them play. This team has grit and fight and they try their best no matter who is on the ice.

I am concerned about the mounting injuries, especially if Nanne's injury is connected to his shoulder injuries that he had in juniors.

Re: RPI Hockey 2014-2015: Dedicated to Rich Curadi

On Saturday's play, there was a "shot" at the time the net was dislodged, but it hit one of the bars. Play ends at that point.

On Friday, the shot as it was going before knocking off the net was cleanly in.

The person on RPI-TV's chat didn't have the citation quite right; it's 26.2, second clause, page 33.

Thank you.
My only problem with that explanation is that Prapavessis shot it the post before the net was dislodged. Check the replay. It is close, but the shot definitely hit the post first.
However, as I said the night before, the guys in stripes said no goal therefore no goal, no argument. Just frustrating.

I agree, we are running out of players. And I don't know the status of any of them. Like is anyone ready to come back? Schroeder and Nanne are just the latest. Bubela, Neal, Bradley and Curadi have been out for a longer period. Are any of them ready to come back Tuesday? I'm just glad that the next four games are ooc. Our post season chances will depend on our conference record.

Then you must consider when the second shot was taken. And you must do it based upon the shot, because of intent to blow the whistle.

One other thing I recall from the rules: Penalties are not subject to in-game review, unless it is determining the difference between a misconduct and a disqualification. Because delay of game was not called on the ice, it would not be able to be called after the review. Perhaps this is something that needs to be considered for the 16-18 rules season, but in order to keep the game moving, only allow penalty review when it is simultaneous to a goal review.

Re: RPI Hockey 2014-2015: Dedicated to Rich Curadi

SA is absolutely correct-all credit due him though for not going ballistic about it since it would have changed nothing. Prapavessis hit the post, the net was dislodged after that without RPI having anything to do with it, no whistle blew, Melanson wrapped the puck directly into the net right after it was dislodged. According to all that the NCAA has made holy-should have been a good goal. Would love to hear the official's explanation why it was not. As coach said, considering how short handed we are, incredible credit to those left standing on the ice for us at the game's conclusion. We will need reinforcements to get healthy quickly right now.

I did not see the play where he was injured. If it is a shoulder, it can range from a minor thing all the way up to season or career threatening things. Complicated joint to deal with. It will depend a lot of just exactly the extent of injury, is it a minor ligament and a minor separation or are we dealing with a major tear or a damaged labrum. Also depends on whether this is his stick hand or dominant shoulder. My hope this is something that can just be kinesio taped and he is back out there in 3 days. My fear is that this is far more involved. Do you know if his previous injuries were repaired by surgical intervention or were they just allowed to heal with rest and time? That would make a big difference. Surgically repaired injuries normally hold up pretty well against reinjury.

I d not know anything about his previous injuries besides that he was out quite a long time.

He was standing in the runway during the review of the disallowed goal, the shoulder was wrapped and I could see a big icepack on it from my seat opposite the RPI bench.

So, Sec17 isn't exactly correct? :)

Aww, how cute, using propaganda to try to dissuade people. Net was clearly off before the shot resulting in the puck crossing the line. And you can't call penalties as a result of a review. Oh well, gotta prepare for your team on Tuesday.

I usually lurk but felt I needed to comment because I'm sick of seeing **** like this from you. Why the **** are you even here. Your only purpose is to try to aggravate actual fans of this team. Get your *** out of here and be gone. No one likes you and your opinions are awful. You clearly don't supprt or like the team. Why don't you unplug and stop attending games with your constant non-support and crappy attitude towards the team. Do you just try to seem ~~~edgy~~~ for attention? Get it together. Go away.

That is about the funniest tirade I have seen on this forum in quite a while. No one is forcing you to read what I write. The amount of butthurt in this post to which I am replying leads me to believe that I am not the one on edge. Perhaps you should click on my name on the left side of the screen to determine if there is a course of action that will make you a bit happier.

If only the ignore list actually made posts disappear altogether instead of leaving a big box telling you there's an ignored post hidden there. Nothing like a screen full of messages telling me those posts are there... Defeats the purpose.

It saves you from having the scroll through his childish signature. You may be onto something.

Does not "defeat the purpose" for me. At least, by not seeing the post itself, I can't be tempted to respond to it against my better judgment. Also, not seeing the actual contents of the post is good for my blood pressure.

The score threads are much more pleasant by hiding the contents, for example.
