Re: RPI Hockey 2014-2015: Dedicated to Rich Curadi

My first game was during 84-85 season. My buddy took me, telling me how good "these guys" were. After one period, it was Dartmouth 1 RPI 0. He told me not to worry, "Oates and Carter can score whenever they want." I think the final was 11-1 or 12-1 RPI and so it began. After going with him as a guest for a few years, including road trips to Harvard, Vermont and Colgate, I got my own tickets and have been there ever since.

;)

Well look at what Harvard did to BC. Maybe some of the experts from this thread have Harvard a little underestimated. Just a bit.

A team that is 1-3 in league play, and now 3-2 OOC? Something tells me that BC just isn't BC this year.

Should the word "parity" be introduced? How did UConn get so decent so quickly, beating BC and tying BU? How does RIT or Bemidji get to the FrozinalFour(TM)? LOTS of kids out there want to play D1 hockey and not too many "programs" are as fussy as RPI vis-a-vis SAT math/science scores. I don't think there ARE any more cupcakes, witness, Michigan Freakin' Tech is, like, 8-0!

I would love to see that engineering school tourney of RPI, RIT, MTU, and CCT which I think WaP was touting a few years ago.

Just a reminder, there will be collection boxes at the games this weekend to benefit Equinox. Please give back to others that aren't so fortunate.

What would play for the Golden Pocket Protector??? Love the idea, should play it at Glens Falls CC.

Those four teams should be playing at the K & E center(perhaps this one will only make sense to the real old timers like myself):)

During one of the intermissions: Contest for the best cosine, secant, tangent, sine cheer! :p:D

Michigan Tech a cupcake?

Smile when you say that, pardner. :)

Michigan Freakin' Tech has won more Division I national championships than RPI, RIT, and Clarkson combined.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeasy, buddy. No disrespect intended. Just using the Huskies as an EXAMPLE of teams that have been down for a while who are now getting their time in the sunshine. I can remember, within my 25 years of RPI season ticketship seeing HORRIBLE teams from BC, Cornell, Lowell and others who are now in the TOP20. Further, RPI has recently received Tournament invitations, including this year, that set THEM up as the cupcake; that first round opponent matched against the home team so that the home team gets to the tournament final. Nextly, comparing MTU to RPI/RIT/CLARKSON in a national championship sense is really just comparing RPI vs MTU, since the other 2 have not won one. Still, MAKING the FrozinalFour(TM) is pretty sweet and if a small, kinda-new-to-D1hockey program can get there (RIT,Bemidji), why DON'T programs like MTU and RPI, both of whom have been playing forever. As for Clarkson, well, you're right.............they just s#*k. I sincerely hope your UP'ers take the overlords down a peg or two, in the name of Tony Esposito. It always makes me glad to see an underdog get to the top.
