RPI@Harvard 3/12/22

And there will be a second overtime.

With seven minutes of power play time, RPI had 12 SOG to Harvard's 11 in the first OT.

Probably can't expect too many more man advantages to go RPI's way.

My fear of the refs making an "even up" penalty call are now heightened. Unless the HU penalties were blatant (and I don't know because I am not watching), that temptation is there for the refs because it is tough to make penalty calls in overtime in the first place.

Would be sweet to win a series in Haavaad's baan. Have we done that before?

I don't think so.

RPI won a series from Harvard in 1999, but that was in Troy.

RPI has won at least one, maybe two single-elimination games at Harvard, but not a series.

OK...5 minutes for interference in a case like that might make sense. Interference with an intent to injure?

Since you’re not watching the same and would like to see hockey, the SLU-Quinnipiac game is on SNY (if you get that station).

RPI did beat Harvard in a postseason series at Harvard in 1995. The first game ended in a 2-2 OT tie. The second game was a 3-1 win. The rule at the time I believe was the first team to achieve 3 points wins the series. RPI went on to win the ECAC title in Lake Placid that year.

I think that I have learned a lesson tonight: if it is a game worth following, buy the video feed. Far too stressful to follow a game via internet updates (Livestats and this great thread).

Gotta admit, my spirit was a little broken after last night's game. Now, into the second OT, I am amazed by the character of the RED to take it to Harvard.
