We just need too many things to break right for us to move up in the PWR much at all. And that never seems to happen for us. But we have a better chance to at least get into the ECAC top 4 and obtain an all important bye which could give us an extra weekend to heal. We put ourselves into this mess with last weekend and now have to dig ourselves out. In this league, with everyone scrambling, we just have to keep focus on one game at a time. May be a cliche but the most important game of the season for us from now on is the next one.

I was simply pointing out that it seemed to me listening on WRPI that Harvard controlled the puck most of the last few minutes. The post that we won 6 of the last 7 face offs didn't seem correct to me. So I checked CHN and they showed a replay more in line with what I heard. Just pointing out that both sources cannot be correct. We can have a lively discussion on how we view the play but lets leave making things up to the politicians.

Correct Doc. As things stand we get to #13 if we win out the next 5 and all other results are neutral. By the way to change the subject, my veterinarian has been using crazy glue on feral spays (cats) for years. Most TNRs have to be released back into a non-sterile environment and they have found that the glue method seals the wound better against infections.

I'm pretty confident Harvard didn't win the last 3, at least to my eyes - maybe 2 out of 3. Anyways, to paraphrase, I look forward to the lively discussions and leave the neagtivity to the experts here.

When a team's down by a goal, they typically use six skaters, meaning they're going to control the puck. We do the same when down a goal.

DR: In our office as far back as 1975, Jenny (who was my office nurse and surgical assistant) and I started using regular OTC crazy glue for small incision, especially in young children who were almost impossible to hold still to sew. Last night though it was almost mandatory as this fellow would have looked like the Transcontinental Railroad ran across his face without it. Everything will look great on him except, his upper lip which i will have to go back and recut and sew in a couple months. That small area of indentation above the lip (often called the frenulum) is almost impossible to get just right. Besides, I had another doctor as an assistant and he is not even close to the best which I had in my office as a second helper.

But we have not yet learned the technique of using the six skaters as effectively as others. We cannot seem to keep the puck in the zone as long as necessary and we do not get as many good chances. Sometimes we do, but we that is an area we need to improve like the LA Kings did to my NU Rangers last night with 29 seconds left in regulation.

But the tieing goal was the direct result of a bogus icing call, reminiscent of Kevin Collins (see 1994 game 7 Vancouver vs. NYR). That faceoff should have never taken place in the Ranger zone. Seems like we are snakebit against the Kings.

You noticed that defensemen ambling back slowly so as to get that icing call too? Jenny was screaming at him on the TV. Just shows that even in the pros, every faceoff is key. Until and unless we start winning 50% or above consistently, we will still struggle. You just cannot afford to hand over the puck 30+ times to another team, no matter who they are. And that is not even adding extra weight to the important ones in our own zone.
