RPI @ Dartmouth, Saturday, 2/13

fr joe

Go Red! Go White!
It's pedal to the metal tonight! On a Friday when the scores across the ECAC almost completely broke in our favor, it's time to keep it up! (You can't expect that to happen often!) Every game is important... it's in our hands, let's play it that way.

And remember that Union overcame a 4-0 deficit to win, so expect the Green to be rather annoyed and on top of their game to get some points!

Re: RPI @ Dartmouth, Saturday, 2/13

Common situation for us this year-a game we should win. We have been in this position before during the year and just did not get the job done for one reason or another. Let's see if this team has matured or learned anything. Perhaps after last night's exhausting third period we will see some fresh legs in the line up tonight? Go Red!

Re: RPI @ Dartmouth, Saturday, 2/13

Let's see a solid 60-minute effort from RPI, and we should be able to take this. Let's not see a Prevent D tonight, let's grab the bull by the balls and show why we deserve the first-round bye!

I would agree with this, but depending upon who travelled with the team. If Justin Smith came along, I would look for him in the lineup if he had a good practice week, since Dartmouth is a bit of a rough team. Maybe he takes either Halpern's or Helfrich's spot. Though if he had Halpern's spot, someone else would have to move up, since Smith would fit well on the checking line. Maybe Watts for Helfrich? Although we're doing very well, we are the most penalized team in the ECAC (ironically Dartmouth is #2, and it's only by 2 minutes), so we may want a good kill man in Watts.

Or, conversely, feeling like they just got kicked in the twig and berries. Some early goals tonight will let them know not to expect points in this one, methinks.

Treat 'em like a whipped dog early, they'll heel.

Re: RPI @ Dartmouth, Saturday, 2/13

If we play like we did last night on the offensive side of the puck and remember to play a little defense, we will be fine.
The forwards were awful in our defensive zone last night. Repeatedly leaving the puck for Harvard. Need some communication out there.

Re: RPI @ Dartmouth, Saturday, 2/13

WRPI will have the women's game starting at 4 on live today. Approximate airtime will be about 3:50, today is a huge game for the women and it is also senior night. If you want to get a jump start on Hockey Night on WRPI, tune in this afternoon and cheer on your women Engineers!!!

Re: RPI @ Dartmouth, Saturday, 2/13

Women are up 2-1 after 2, but Dartmouth has 1:59 of power play time to start the 3rd. Same officials as last night, and good god all 4 are atrocious.

Re: RPI @ Dartmouth, Saturday, 2/13

Potsdam helped us out a bit, with CCT beating Q-Pac.

We need at least a tie to keep pace and the lead, but 2 points would be very nice. If Cornell can beat Yale and Union wins, we may be able to get close to a possible 3rd.

Q had 8 power plays to only 1 for CCT:eek: Perhaps Clarkson is putting it together a little bit at least late in the season.

Re: RPI @ Dartmouth, Saturday, 2/13

As long as we have more goals than the opponent at the end of the game.

Definitely stay out of the box and we can put a hurting on Dartmouth tonight. Let's go RED!
