Re: RPI @ Dartmouth, Saturday, 11/02/2013

Will we get any sort of offense from anyplace other than the first line? Are we as good as we thought we were after BU/UNH? Is Harvard vastly underrated? Tune in tonight-Same Bat Time, Same Bat Channel.

Re: RPI @ Dartmouth, Saturday, 11/02/2013

RPI goes to the Land of Green to find a road win.

Have to conclude that Harvard's got a pretty good team in these early stages of the season. But RPI's got some early season mojo going, too. Sounds like Girard and his defense were very effective. Tip your cap and move on to Dartmouth. Let's play the Engineer Way and skate home with a W.

I am beginning to think that we just don't match up well against Harvard. I am sure that Yale has the same problem with us. It is just very frustrating.
Last year, Dartmouth was our worst effort of the year. I hope that we have learned from that experience and do something to turn it around.
Was it just me, or did last nights game seem like a no hitter? I don't remember any mention of big hits or the sound of someone hitting the boards. Also, I don't remember the announcers once saying that the Harvard goalie had to make a big save.
Just didn't sound like we were very hard to play against in Boston.
Turn the page,
lets go red!!!!!!!!!!!

EHF-you and I are on the exact same page. i posted several times about how we match up differently with some teams. i also have mentioned that for a physical team(and we are) we certainly have not been hitting as much as I would have expected. We need to be more forceful in several aspects-clearing the crease and shooting the puck out of our zone to buy time-often we seem to just try to easily push it out. Our defense is big, we have some size up front, we have speed, we started out finishing plays with well placed shots-let's get back to that kind of hockey. And yes, I have felt from day 1 that Harvard had very good(but young) talent. it is not like they ran all over us yesterday-we gave up 1 goal so early in the second period that it seemed we were just not ready. Other than that-this was a 0-0 game that was fairly even in shots on goal. Still think coach SA will be making a pair adjustment on defense shortly. The discrepancy in +/- of the D corps is just getting to be too obvious(and that, of course only measure net goals at even strength).

Re: RPI @ Dartmouth, Saturday, 11/02/2013

SA seemed a bit angry.

He said he was angry-but i did not see that in his expression. we will know shortly though-if he was angry-expect some major changes. If he actuaslly thought we got beat while still playing pretty well-perhaps only a minor change or none at all. We need to right the ship fast before this becomes a longer non winning streak. Go Red!

I see that tonight's game has video coverage from Inside Ivy League Digital. Anyone know whether the quality is worthwhile? Did anyone use it for last night's game against Harvard?

The price for a package seems very reaosnable-if and when we get into the season and play 3-4 Ivies in a short span on the road and you can get the entire month. i was thinking of trying tonight-RHamiton(who really knows about these things) felt the quality yesterday was WOW!

The Harvard video quality was great, I have no idea if Dartmouth will be comparable. I didn't listen to the audio, I had WRPI on instead. You can also get the women's game at Cornell later in November if you get the month-long deal.

Re: RPI @ Dartmouth, Saturday, 11/02/2013

Bubela and Wood out; Bourbonnais and Miller in. Also some line switching.

I am sure coach knows best-but I sure like Laliberte with Haggerty and I have always liked Tinordi with Mcgowan. Dartmouth from what I can tell is a bigger team than we have faced this year.

Re: RPI @ Dartmouth, Saturday, 11/02/2013

The Laliberte, McGowan, Schroeder line hasn't scored a goal.

OTOH, Zalewski's, Neal's, and Haggerty's numbers all end in 9. Is that good? :)
