Not an exciting game to watch in any way. Just wonder why we are not able to put out on the ice a team that can produce more offensively. Even more unsure if this is the players or how they are being put together in lines. Example-it appears that Nanne, who was our leading offensive weapon early in the season, has not been nearly as effective when taken away from his early linemates. Granted Miller has been hurt, but Melanson is not hurt and their chemistry together was exciting to watch. Just sayin'.............

Didn't watch, but since Nanne came back he hasn't been the same IMO. A little shy going in the corners. Understandable with his shoulder issues .

Its the face-off problem all over again (and the clueless PP). Now we probably would need 5-2-1 in the remaining games to get a bye, a pipe-dream (pun intended) if there ever was one.

Of course that is a big part of it. Early in the season though, I really liked the chemistry of the pairings. Now, we went through a period of a ton of injuries and illness. But at this stage we are more healthy than we have been in a long time, but those combinations have been all moved around and the chemistry has just not been there. We seem like a comatose patient who wakes up for a few minutes and is lucid only to slip back into unconsciousness.

My thoughts expressed over and over again-special teams have killed us and face offs have cost us in almost every game. It is not a matter of talent (although it could be) it is a matter of fundamentals.

Nanne is not the only one, Liljagren started the first month of the season like he was going to be a force. He wasn't finishing, but he was very visible and the puck seemed to follow him. Now he is almost invisible.
And lets not give Kasdorf a break here, since he has come back from his injury, he has let in at least one soft goal in almost every game that he has played. That short handed goal last night was just one more.
The defense has been inconsistent at best. But I think that it has to do with SA having them join the offensive play. I have noticed every defenseman down by the goal line in every game this year. I don't think that they are handling it well mentally.
As for the teams performance, it is just unpredictable. It's kind of like a box of chocolates.:eek:

I made it home safe last night. Thanks everyone for your concern and for listening. :)
