RPI @ Cornell - Friday, February 22

Re: 3-0 Cornell

Re: 3-0 Cornell

Hopefully this is the stinker we needed to get out of our system and can right the ship for the last 3 games of the regualr season.

Re: RPI @ Cornell - Friday, February 22

ENG 4-1
Disappointing game, not the best effort, but a couple of terrible mistakes became Cornell goals and we never were able to make up for those errors.
Had plenty of power play chances, but just couldn't convert.
I know that you can't win then all, but Bailen's mistake and Dolan falling down on the power play cost us too much.
See you tomorrow night.

DrD's right... get this one out of our system and go after those remaining six RS points.

Scores... all finals
CCT 4, Dartmouth 0
SLU 4, Harvard 2
Colgate 4, Union 1
Brown 4, Princeton 1

It could have been worse...

Very true. If QU holds on to their lead, we will still be in 3rd place, one point beind SLU and one ahead of Union with three teams two points back. We still control our own destiny for 2nd place and for a first round bye. Night everyone...

Concise summary-2 mistakes and just could not get them back. Iles was tough as usual and we were not going to get any gifts. Hope the boys put this one away quickly and can get a better result tomorrow. These teams are all just too close talent wise to make mistakes. Any team can beat virtually any other on a given night.

Re: RPI @ Cornell - Friday, February 22

Just curious...do you recall how far up the ice Bailen was when he initiated this "ill-advised pass"? Between the Cornell blue line and the top of their face-off circle? or deeper in their zone? (I'm just catching up on what I missed earlier, thanks).

He was behind the net and, as I've said is the one thing you should never do HUNDREDS OF TIMES, cleared the puck in front of his own net.

This may seem a little out of character of me, but thank you for beating us. We have been playing awful as of late, and wins we had been getting were plain lucky. Maybe, with that, our team might stand a chance at actually improving some of our flaws.

This does not make sense. We were even with Yale or outplayed for up to two-thirds of the game. We indisputably stomped Brown. We indisputably stomped Clarkson. We played what was, by all accounts I've read, an even game with SLU and got the win.

Care to elaborate on "playing awful"?
