RPI @ Colgate (Friday, 24 February 2012)

Re: RPI @ Colgate (Friday, 24 February 2012)

Colgate skated circles around us last time out. Seriously made it look like we were standing still. I don't blame him looking for speed over size for this one.

Yeah, that's worked well for us all year....Last time i checked...WE WERE IN LAST PLACE!!

I might be looking to find a line to use defensively against the top Colgate line-they just destroyed us last time. We have to find a way to stop that line or this one will be over early and it will not even be close.

looking back at the boxscore from the last Col/RPI game...that line scored a goal against all 4 lines & the 3 D pairings. The only player from that game who was not on the ice for any of the goals was O'Grady. BTW, neither JL or Neal (who are in tonight) played that night.

Doc, sometimes you just don't have the talent to deal with guys like Smith. We had the same problem with Colorado College and the Schwartz brothers. :(

You can make up for a lot in hockey by playing a fundamentally sound system. You can almost never match up exactly line for line talent wise. But Colgate did quite well against us in the playoffs last year by controlling our top scoring line.

Then doesn't that speak for the fact that we did not have a line designed to deal with them? Just postulating-perhaps we just do not have the ability to come up with 3 forwards who can help shut down a big line like that.

As usual-good interview with SA. He and the coaches taking responsibility for the poor performance of our power play this year.

Hi to Dr D, Ralph and EHF and Russinko...long time no chat. All good in the west...bit better than in Troy.

Colgate penalty number 1-4 on 4 for a long time. This does indeed sound like a Kotyra game
